Ranked highly emails
Started by Madhatter
How common is it to receive one of these? I've been on 10 interviews and have yet to receive one. Bad sign?
no
I never received any direct indication from a program about my ranking. I did receive two encouraging messages, one from the PD at my top choice which came about four days after my interview, thanking me for coming and said, "I think you would be a very good fit for this program." I received another, from my third choice the day after my interview, which said, thanks for coming to the interview, "We remain highly interested in your candidacy." That one, it wasn't clear to me whether it was a standard email they sent to everyone or just to me.
These emails are common. Don't put too much weight to receiving it or not. Just do your best and play the game right.
