Ranking a program that you didn't interview at?

I know this is a stupid question but what would happen if you ranked a program you did not interview for and on some fluke they didn't match with their choices, would you end up matching there even if they didn't list you?

In a word, no - you would just scramble like everyone else for their open position. They ahve to rank you - that is why they call it a match
