So I thought Id put this thread up for those who need a place to cut loose and say whatever is on their mind about kaplan or other test materials u think suck balls when it comes to the DAT....

I'm doing the Kaplan online stuff right now. It's mediocre.

Don use it Kaplans PAT as your only source....U'll get a surprise jolt during the actual DAT

Kaplan has done a great job marketing their stuff. I had lunch with a young pre-dent and some dentists yesterday. He said, "yeah, everybody at my school is gonna use Kaplan." I told him that I used it, but wouldn't again, and thought the price was beyond ridiculous. I then told him that if he wanted an 18 to go ahead and use Kaplan only, but for higher scores, check out a website called SDN.

Their marketing materials act like the program is focused on you, the unique student that you are. But, it's not, everyone goes through all the same material. The have their "recommended next steps" part, but that is just part of the curriculum anyways. The online videos were basic, buggy, and overall a pile of junk. The book (white book) is pretty good, with some good review questions. Chads videos are better for the chemistries at $30.00 for all of them.
