Raspberries
Started by deschutes
Raspberries ain't got nothin' on strawberries or cherries. The cherry-lime combination is unstoppable and beats the crap out of the raspberry-lime combination.
Don't get me wrong, I like raspberries, but they are an average fruit. Better than the blueberry and the watermelon but less than the strawberry, cherry, orange, grape.
Where did this sudden tribute to raspberries arise from? Are you being compensated by the vast raspberry lobby? Beware, for they will soon have you under their thumb, like me and the DOTS people. Greatest candy ever.

Aha! I ask you to witness the power of the raspberry to stand alone in all its glory!yaah said:Raspberries ain't got nothin' on strawberries or cherries. The cherry-lime combination is unstoppable and beats the crap out of the raspberry-lime combination.
I didn't "get" raspberries until I had a really good ripe one. Hoo boy!
Raspberries have to be the single most perishable fruit known to man - thus adding to their allure. Plus, they are just so visually-appealing. And so very intense. Strawberries would be watery in comparison.
Strawberries are good if one U-picks them - those warm ripe gems that practically bleed into the hand. The supermarket variety (crunchy giants on 'roids)... na-ah.
Non-maraschino cherries are good too. I recently came across B.C. cherries almost the size of plums.
Apples and oranges are winter fruit. I am sick of apples and oranges.
The blueberry has issues. I mean, it's actually better cooked. And it's white on the inside. And it's crunchy. I felt so betrayed.
Do they offer free raspberries?yaah said:Are you being compensated by the vast raspberry lobby?
To you, I say - BERNARD CALLEBAUT!yaah said:like me and the DOTS people. Greatest candy ever.

Strawberries provide quite a bit of fiber...hence, the obvious benefit 🙂
I would argue that raspberries with their larger seeds have better poo-inducing properties.AndyMilonakis said:Strawberries provide quite a bit of fiber...hence, the obvious benefit 🙂
Raspberries float - whether frozen or fresh.
I don't know what you'd get if you put the last two statements together.

mmmmmm...now that's what i'm talkin about!
I tend to like blackberries more than raspberries. 😎

The first being the concept of steroid strawberries - check out the TRI-lobed strawberry in the bottom left corner.
The second....
(.... please forgive me...)

Do you know, I could not find that picture of yours by searching for keyword "poo" - there were too many.
I subsequently searched for "presentation" - and it was the 3rd thread of 4.

Hold on a minute deschutes...oh no you didn't...that's my Mr. Hankey picture.
Find your own Mr. Hankey picture! 😀
Anyways, I'm pretty psyched now...I just started doing experiments in my previous lab again. I'm realizing how much I missed it. It's kinda like rebound hypertension after a patient stops taking clonidine.

You miss my point! My point is that your strawberries look like your Mr. Hankey.AndyMilonakis said:Hold on a minute deschutes...oh no you didn't...that's my Mr. Hankey picture.
And we all know what Mr. Hankey looks like.
It's the hands-on-ness, isn't it. Totally floats my boat.AndyMilonakis said:I just started doing experiments in my previous lab again. I'm realizing how much I missed it.

The resemblance between chocolate covered strawberries and Mr. Hankey is quite striking...although my strawberry post was completely innocent in nature and wasn't intended to conjure up the image or thought of poo. Get your head out of the gutter 🙂
I love lab work. There's something about it that is so awesome. Maybe it's the hands-on nature...I won't argue with you there. Perhaps it's the fact that you have a vested interest in the results and that motivates you. See in medicine, I really have no vested interest in what I do (except discharging patients so that I can take the next day easy). Perhaps it's the laid back nature of labwork...the time pressures are not as apparent and one can take his/her sweet ass time in planning and thinking through stuff (whereas medicine is too much pattern recognition and cued recall). So anyways it seems like I'll be working longer hours overall next month...from pathology (7-5 pm) to doing experiments (6 pm-whenever). At least I'll enjoy what I'm doing for once. 🙂
Damn I just missed my bus. Dinner is going to be half an hour later.
Oh well. Guess I'll just have to post.
Henceforth I will be an angel. I will wear white and a serene smile on my face every day and no longer make sex-dirty or poo-dirty insinuations.

I wholeheartedly agree. I've dragged myself around in the mud like a wet dog (and worse!) long enough.AndyMilonakis said:Get your head out of the gutter 🙂

I know what you mean. It's like capturing a little bit of Universe for yourself. Just the idea of finding or seeing something that no one else has seen before - no matter however small - that is heady.AndyMilonakis said:I love lab work.
