Blueprints says normal for nullips is 1.0/cm/hr, multips 1.2/cm/hr minimum.
FA 2CK and Case Files says nullips is 1.2/cm/hr, multips is 1.5/cm/hr minimum.

You guys know which one is right? I tried to find an ACOG bulletin for the authoritative answer, but came up empty...

We were taught 1cm/hr minimum for nullips.

You 'might' feel a difference between 1.0 and 1.5....but are you really ever going to be able to differentiate between 1.0 and 1.2 change? From a clinical standpoint that is a useless differentiation.

On the other hand, if you're trying to answer a multiple choice question for the USMLE...

they wont pin you on that distinction. if a question required knowing the info, the dilation will be obviously too long or in range

Not true, I got a question in my shelf which was borderline being too slow a rate of dilation. You did have to know those numbers in order to feel comfortable with answering arrest vs protraction..... 1.2 and 1.5 commit it to memory you'll only see those numbers another 200 times in your rotation 🙂
