Two "aha!!" moments in pharmacology today and I have flashcards of a lecture I thought I had forgotten to do on Friday. It's the little things, but I think second year is going to be a good one.

Got our engagement photos done today. Can't wait to see them 😍

South Park guinea pig episodes are on! Undergrad nostalgia right there.

I was just reunited with my iPod after months and months of being apart! I've torn apart my house, my car, my sister's car, my office, everything to find that darn thing in the last year.

It was in my secret pocket in my old backpack under my desk at work.....:smack:

But it no longer matters! I feel like I just found a $100 bill in my jeans pocket! :biglove:

Wooo!

I'm going through my house right now, room by room and selling off stuff that I don't want to take with me when I move(eventually). It amazes me how much stuff I forgot I had, or had forgotten where I put it. "So THAT's where that went".

The talks during orientation have actually made me feel somewhat better about my financial future (and even future employment, a little), and I got my blue coat today. I'm gonna be a vet! It's gonna be hard, I know, but right now I actually feel like it's going to be worth it!

Why does furniture have to be so expensive? My friend's mom works at the furniture store nearby and was able to get me a good deal. It's a very nice set. Now all I have to do is snoop around craig's list do find a coffee table and TV stand.

Rave number 1: Last day on over night emergency shift! Its alteady shaping up to be a busy night, but at least it will be over soon.

Rave number 2: The monster man took his first walking steps today, while I was home, and awake! I was so terrified that I was going to miss it since I've only gotten to see him for an hour or two every day recently. 😀

😍 :claps:
Sidenote: I call my handsome pup "Monster Man" 😀.

I took the GRE this evening (it was at 5PM).

I did much better than my two previous attempts (which were in 2009-2010). A 160V/155Q is, apparently, scaled to approximately a 1300 on the old form. Previously, even a composite of my highest scores was only 1120. My quantitative was very low on those tests.

Also, I'm rather happy that my "experimental" section was likely the first quantitative block, which I felt like I did awful answering.

Congrats!!

Found a nice, real wood TV stand and side table for my living room for only $20. And the guy carried it from his 2nd floor apartment to my car. Because there was no way I was going to be able to carry it down the huge flight of stairs without dying. Now I just need a coffee table..watching craig's list like a hawk.

I rearranged my room and LOVE IT! It's small so it's been a little bit of an adventure trying to figure out how to fit things and not be cramped, this is the 3rd time since March it's been moved around and I'm super happy with what i just did! 😀 YAY.

Caught up on Calc 1 for a whole week!

Small spaces are more fun to decorate. You get to be inventive. 🙂

*Nsync at the VMAs...yes...I am pretending to be 13 again

Take that One Direction...you will never be all that and a bag of potato chips

I'm scouring Pinterest for ideas! 🙂 I want to get a desk, but I don't have that much room to work with. Decisions, decisions.

I don't have a lot of room for a desk, so I had my dad make me a "desk" that hinges up and latches on the wall - I can fold it down and do work on it, and then fold it back up when I'm done. It's been a great space saver!!

My Rave: I finally finished my personal statement and submitted my VMCAS app. It feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders!

I think I need to go to sleep and stop studying. Just decided VMA's stood for veterinary music awards. Yes. Excellent.

I had to login just to say....HELL YEAH! :soexcited: I too acted like less than 1/2 my age when they showed up, which my husband found quite hilarious. Now if they would only tour....

Um if they toured my life would be complete.

While I'm still pissed off at my sibling-roommate and need to a have a little talk with him later this evening, I can at least be happy that my three hour long Monday night course appears not to have a midterm or a final. Instead, there is a group project about the epidemiology of a disease and an an individually assigned 10-15 page research paper about a different disease of my choosing.

I can dig that.

At first glance, I'm thinking Lyme disease would be an interesting topic for the paper. All kinds of fun, current issues to discuss with that one.

Now if only the professor teaching it could develop some inflection in his voice.

Everything is all settled and finalized with my doctoral program. Classes started today, but I have until next week to officially start due to the late notice of admittance. I get my own office and phone number for my TA job. I feel so legit. Though, that does mean I'll have office hours...hopefully I'll get a bright bunch of students for my lab sections, so no one will need my help. :meanie:

Re: My desk - I was just thinking about a fold up type!!! I don't have a dad, so I'll have to date someone handy next 😉

My roomie and I were downright shrieking and squealing. 😍😍😍

Got my financial aide deposited this morning! I'm not poor right now!

I got so anxious during JT's performance and when they showed up, I started sweating and maybe crying a little and jumping up and down on my couch. It was the best 30 seconds of my adult life.

Our histo lab is in the meds school and I ate lunch on their roof top terrace today and met a very cute PA student. Totally out of my comfort zone to be like "Hey, why PA school?" But I did it. I hope to run into him again. 😀

I went to the grocery store to pick up something for dinner and found individual sized red velvet cakes from Marie Callender in the frozen food aisle.

I'm pretty excited about this. 😀

Had no idea that there was a professional fireworks show on campus tonight and was able to catch the whole thing from my balcony 🙂. 😍 fireworks.

Boilermaker713 hooked me up with some bridal magazines and NStarz is feeding my cat this weekend while I'm visiting my SO! Thanks guys 🙂 SDN members are awesome.

Also, my iPad keyboard came a day early! Can't wait to use it in class tomorrow.

I recognize the names on our list and have seen everything for our anatomy quiz on Tuesday. Feeling quite less overwhelmed. 🙂

Rave: I found trichomonas on a direct today!

Rant: The Dr on the case insisted it was Giardia.

It was not giardia. But whatever. Same treatment so I will not fight this battle.

Are you aware of boom's day?

I am and I'm looking forward to it 🙂. When they first started going off last night, I was afraid that they messed up getting set for boomsday and the fireworks were going off early lol. Turns out they were for a huge baptist church just down the road to kick off their Wednesday night student worship thing. They shot the fireworks off the Neyland garage.

boom's day is amazing. and all people in knoxville should go at least once.

My classmate fixed my car, and it didn't cost me a dime. 😀 (And no, it had nothing to do with it being a Kia; it was a loose wire that my step-brother/mechanic and step-dad must have not reattached properly when they were working on something else behind that panel.) He wouldn't take payment, but did accept a hug and I told him I'd bake him some brownies.

Isn't the point of cupcakes that they're individual sized?

They weren't technically cupcakes. These were more like little microwaveable bowl cakes and there were probably more calories in one than in an average red velvet cupcake. :scared:

Even so, they were tasty.

I tried to find a product picture but no such luck. I did however see a blue velvet cake and now I want to make one. You win, internet.

While I didn't get out of work until nearly 6:30 and I have to do last minute stuff with my application the next two days, it was ....for now.... my last day as an intern at the health department.

I get some variable amount of time off as my supervisor sets up my next job and secures the funding through the CDC. Sure, it's not paid time off, but I'm looking forward to my four day weekend (no class on Tuesday).🙂

I don't even know what to do with myself. Sleeping sounds really good, but so does minimal shopping/window shopping.
