Im devastated abt this event because if you're also referring to the one in Chtown, the schedule looks so good and it would be so easy for me to attend, considering I live here, but Im too poor for the tickets 😭 Ive never attended any sort of conference before as I never really get to leave the Maritimes so I truly had no idea how expensive it was to attend!! I hope everyone who goes has tons of fun though

Kawasaki ninja, nice!! I really want a Honda rebel 500 which I know is seen as like a wimpy or "girly" bike but I'm a Honda head and don't want to go super fast haha. My MIL might kill me if I ever get around to buying one 😂
They do, but its still $375 + tax. I think for everyone else its like $750. It is really funny that the Canadian CVMA and the American CVMA are having their conferences on the exact same dates and both have tons of one health content.

My first bike was a Honda cb300! They're great bikes and hella reliable. I only moved to the ninja 650 for the wind stability.
People will act like that about any good "starter" bike but tbh theyre popular for a reason and I could still clock >100 on the 300cc (for legal reasons this is hypothetical 👀). If I wanted a cruiser I'd get a rebel 10/10 times
I love that this website exists because I grew up on forum boards and the fact that they're mostly obsolete now sucks. They are clearly the superior form of social media. Shout to all of you on here that are helping keep it alive ⭐

Guys I'm having the greatest weekend ever. Just me and my thoughts, no obligations for once (this is rare since I'm usually visiting my partner or my family each weekend). It's 55 and sunny and I've got the windows open. Went for a 4 mile walk and did my spring cleaning. I put together an isopod enclosure and THEY SHIPPED TODAY!!!! YAYYYY they'll be here tomorrow or Wednesday! I got dairy isopods for anyone interested, Porcellio laevis. I also just ordered a suit which is something I've wanted for a literal decade, and I got $200 off with cashback and coupons! I'll finally have some formal wear that I like for the first time in my life. My little androgynous brain is so happy.

I am a beekeeper, so when I read this I thought you meant the suit was for your isopod care like my bee suit and I wondered how in the world they were so dangerous. Then I realized I was sorely mistaken haha

I have very vague memories of an indigenous restaurant once but I was a picky kid back then and had probably just chicken nuggets. I gotta find another place like that again bc that all sounds so good. I'm going camping in the UP this summer right next to a reservation so maybe there will be something up there 🤔

There was SO much there I wanted to try. They had a game tartare, quail thighs, bison bone marrow, and some bigger "to share" plates, but the spouse is anti-raw things and while probably delicious, the bigger plates were way more expensive and intended to be shared between like 3-4 people. I desperately want to go back with our friends and I'm really excited to see what the spring and summer menus look like.
I'm putting this in the rave thread because I'm trying to manifest good things. 
I'm being considered for a state research job that I'm really excited about, and I'm reasonably optimistic about my chances! The salary is just okay, but the work would be amazing and the move would bring me to within a few hours of where my sister lives. It's just so perfect. After the initial review they had us write up our responses to a series of technical questions and they've had those for about 2.5 weeks now. I'm starting to get anxious to hear back, but it's also spring break and things might be slower due to people being gone, and on top of that state jobs are notorious for being slow . . . but yeah, manifesting good things Positive thinking! I wouldn't be this anxious to hear back so soon except that I'm 3 interviews deep into a job application that's been throwing up some red flags, and I'd love to have a better idea of my chances for the state job before turning anything else down. I've been refreshing my email way too often and I'm driving myself a little bit crazy, but here's to good news and interview offers coming sooooon 🤞

We have a student doing an externship at the clinic I work at right now and it's pretty fun to have the opportunity to teach some things.
I just found out that I am the bike mount and roving transition coordinator for Ironman triathlon’s first ever kids race! I have responsibilities! Yay!!

Being anywhere before 6 am on a Saturday is hardcore!
Volunteering at Ironman events is fun! I would do the early start on Sunday too but I live an hour away and gotta give AM meds to one of my animals before I leave, but Sunday I’ll be there 9-5 for the adult racers 🙂

The kids race was a huge success!! A little chaotic to start but the kids had SO much fun! Lots of smiling faces and budding triathletes 😍
Late to the party but I also rode a green Kawasaki ninja in vet school (sold it when we moved for residency and then started popping out kids so no more motorcycles for me but...)
