Those are easy to hide. Just flip it up into your nose!

True story. Old roommate of mine got hers pierced and was in AF ROTC, and was immediately able to just poke it up for any and all activities. You have to get a broken ring, obviously, but sometimes when she would go out or didn't have a ton of ROTC stuff going on, she'd switch to a continuous ring.

My fiance and I are printing our save-the-dates as photos... With deals from two different websites, we're getting all of them for just over 4 cents per photo. I also picked up 300 free address labels from Staples, and we got wine bottles and corks for the centerpieces from a local vineyard for nothing.:soexcited:

Summer classes are DONE! I know that I got at least one "A" for sure, and will hopefully know about the other two "A"s tomorrow <fingers crossed>.

One semester closer to living my dream!! YAY! 😀

i am now living on a beautiful caribbean island. goodbye winter!

I'm in Texas, where I'm pretty sure it's hotter than actual HELL....I'd literally kill for winter at this point. We've had well over 30 days of 100+ degree heat. Today, it's a balmy 108! 😱

I'm afraid to go outside for fear that I will :boom:

Think I will cross-post this in the "Rant" thread as well.

I used to live in Texas - Houston - and would visit my family in Canada for a month or more each summer. I literally almost blacked out on the way back from the airport when I came home one summer to a car with broken AC and 110F heat. Worst feeling of my life.

1st: the "boom" is amazing and hilarious

2nd: aside from the crazy humidity, it's 79-84 here every day.

My home country is in Southeast Asia, so the wildlife rehab center & clinic I'm shadowing at right now doesn't have your usual deer, bears, etc...

However, we do have long-tailed macaques, fruit bats, and birds of prey like a serpent eagle and a white-bellied sea eagle.

I'm currently dying of happiness!

RAIN! It's raining! It's raining without 80 mph winds taking out trees! We need this rain so bad. It's amazing! 😍 And HAPPY BIRTHDAY COWGIRLA!

Aw, shucks =blush= Thanks <3
And best bday present ever: thunderstorm, rain, and temps that are NOT over 100 degrees. Ima happy girl.

Happy birthday! And that is a fantastic birthday present for this summer!

I'm so excited that I'm finally getting wedding planning done. I spoke with the florist today and got some designs finalized. So nice to have one more thing finished!

Thank you! I had a completely awesome birthday thanks (in large part!) to LissaRae!

I haven't really been on here in a while, due to my lack of internet, but I have so many raves. I've had a bunch of rants, too, but most of them have resolved themselves. So here we go!

1. I moved into my apartment and it's even better than I remembered during my visit a few months ago
2. My kitty has adjusted so well to his new surroundings
3. My parents bought be some amazing new living room and dining room furniture. It is all so pretty and so comfortable and I am in love with my living space. I'm guessing this was my birthday present and I am so ok with it.
4. My uncle has been helping me with all of my tech unsaviness. Plus he got me a microwave as a housewarming gift.
5. I met with some of my classmates yesterday and they're freaking awesome! Going out with some of them tonight, too.

and I just can't express how excited I am that my kitty is doing well in his new home. I was worried he'd be miserable without my parents' cat. He moped and mournfully cried around the apartment for a couple of days but now seems perfectly content following me around like a dog. Just like he used to do when it was just to two of us! Love him.

My and my girlfriend's kitten Gray is the devil's spawn. Observe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPuGdnTw9RQ Turn your volume up and listen as she speaks to you. (This is a rave because she's so stinkin cute when she goes all evil on her toy.)

Ellie - Thanks for posting this! I was simply lurking around to see what was up and this gave me a MUCH needed 🙂. That kitten may be the devil's spawn, but she's a riot and totally adorable.

Also, happy belated birthday to cowgirla; and bearby, happy to hear that things are going so well for you.

YES! I can totally relate to that. I just moved out of my last place with my kitty (away from 2 dogs and 2 cats). She was best friends with one of each spp, and I was so worried she'd miss them... but omfg she is so freaking happy to rule the house and be my bestest friend in the whole world. And without the other greedy ill-behaved animals, I can spoil her with whatever she wants (favorite kind of potty + litter, automatic feeder, water fountain). First day, she took to playing with my new roomie's Steinway.... so we'll have to work on that one 😳. From a clinical trial I enrolled her in, I know she loves classical music so maybe she just can't help herself.

A few other raves. My own sizeable refrigerator, free biweekly house cleaning, and cable! All for a comperable price as the cheap rent I was paying before!

oh, and I taught my 10 month old nephew how to fetch (he just learned how to crawl like 1-2 mos ago).

I think I've had more of a social life in the past week then I have in the past year combined. Surprise party last weekend, farewell dinner with other friends tonight, hanging with another friend tomorrow, Buskers festival with people on Sunday, one-on-one dinner with best friend on Thursday, meet up with someone else on Friday... This amount of socializing is a new record for me! Loving every minute of it though.

For some reason that kind of thing tends to clump together for me too. Like, last weekend I was invited to a million different things but I had a huge hockey tournament so I pretty much had to say no to most of them. This weekend nobody's really doing anything. Always this way...

I really need to get "sorry I can't, I have hockey" tattooed on my face.

I forgot to mention that want to get my septum pierced, and that is what I am worried about.

Meh, I have mentioned before on here, I am not the best person to talk to about piercings. I have 13 piercings myself, two in my nose and 1 in my tongue, specifically, so I am very lenient on piercings. I don't have any other "facial" piercings because I don't want to have to take them out, but the septum thing shouldn't be too big of a deal because you can push it into your nose.

I don't think vet school cares about facial piercings until you get into clinics anyways. There are people in my class with things like eyebrow rings so I wouldn't be that concerned. They can always come out and I think a septum piercing would be an easily hide-able one if you are really concerned after you get it done.

For some reason that kind of thing tends to clump together for me too.

In my case, it's mostly because I'm moving in two weeks. From Halifax, NS to Charlottetown, PE for vet school. So suddenly all my friends are going "OMG YOU'RE LEAVING WE HAVE TO HANG OUT!!!"

So I was complaining a page back about not getting any gifts? No longer so!

My friend at http://zapcomic.com drew me a bitchin' picture.

Too cool.

Love me some anthro vet tigresses. ;p That's seriously an awesome picture, though. You should frame it. 🙂

My initial thought was, "Well why are they freaking out? Halifax to Charlottetown is not really that far. Just like 2-3 hours right? I mean you have the potential to go home frequently or they could come visit you"

Then I remembered that the cost to get off of PEI is $42. So then my thought was, "Yeh you may not see them for months, even years! I hated paying it the one time, I couldn't imagine paying it more than a couple of times a year."

Yesterday was my last day at my internship. Went out to dinner with my coworkers and had a great time! I am moving out of my house on Lake Michigan tomorrow and staying with my friend in East Lansing (campus) for the next few days, and then I am heading home to Virginia for 8 days and will return to East Lansing for school. I'm super excited to get back to a sense of normalcy, get out of this town where I don't know anyone, and start my senior year!:xf::luck:

We made it! Yesterday was "moving day" from Ohio to MA, we made the drive without anyone dying (inclusive of me managing not to kill the cats even though my deaf cat managed to BREAK OUT OF HIS CARRIER and spent the majority of the 11 hours on the front seat instead oh god he's such a freaking PITA), we got most of our stuff off the truck (oh god we have so much stuff), and now it's time to start job interviews.

Also, I got a B in my o-chem class, which I am absolutely THRILLED about.

Just finished the GRE ... after many hours of fear about what writing topics I would receive to fail at, I found my essays to be more than satisfactory - they seemed at least a 5 quality ...

BUT what I am really excited about is the score ranges I got after my test: 640-740 V and 750-800 Q! Woo!

This is making me rethink not applying to US schools this cycle ... now I really want to.

Other things I want to do: take my GRE book outside and dance around it while I burn it. My head hurts.

My Grandma took me shopping today...SOOOO many school supplies 😍

Sweet. My parents came to visit today and my house looks a billion times better. No school supplies, but curtains and new dishes. I think it's the little things, really 😀

I am excited for you guys! You guys are so cute on your facebook group, especially the ones that are starting to freak out. Seriously though, be prepared to be bored out of your mind tomorrow. I think I'm supposed to show up around 4:15 so you guys should be in a deep stupor by that point.

I've been on my computer/iPad all through out our orientation so far. Not that what we are learning isn't important - just a lot of it is review or common sense. I need to get one of those screen protectors for my screen so people can't see. Oh man.. I am so ADHD....

and now for an actual RAVE:

I have my car back!!!!!!! YAY! My car broke down on July 17th and it's finally fixed and I can drive myself to school tomorrow! yippee!

screen protector not really necessary. FB is pretty much on the majority of computer screens in class, mixed in with some games, and lots of shopping!

heylodeb-
My daughter is in orientation with you right now and she was saying that it was fb as far as the eye could see during yesterday's orientation, even with the professors/administrators in the back of the room. So I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Wait, shopping?! People can shop on student loans? How?!

B+ in ochem 2 😍 miracle considering I got a 35(!) on the first test!

Bahahahahaha  I hate traveling with cats.

huh, if anyone goes to CSU and wants to play on the computer during class, I'd suggest sitting in the way back (and maybe with a screen protector just in case), at least for first-year. Or smart phones would be your safest alternative. If a couple of the core first-year professors saw you do that, they would probab ream you out in front of the class. When we get taught in the computer lab, sometimes we'd all have to turn all of our monitors sideways to assure that no one's secretly facebooking. It's kind of kindergarten-ish like that. I sat in the middle of the lecture hall, and of the few computers that were up in front of me that I could see, they were all note-taking. Plus, we had a conduct police in our class who would sit in different parts of the lecture hall to keep an eye on everyone and threaten the class of an honor code violation for lack of professional behavior. Hope no other class goes through that saga, like ever again.

Bahahahahaha  I hate traveling with cats.

Try traveling with my lil baby girl, and you'll change your mind. She sits in her crate behind the front passenger seat and sprawls out to sleep like the whole ride. Everytime you say her name (even in passing in a conversation), she answers. It's really funny. After doing it several times in a row, her answers turn into an annoyed meow, but she can't help answering. Every 4 hrs or so, you just put her little potty in her crate and tell her to go, and go she does! Sometimes she feels the need to only go when the car is moving (wtf?) so you have to give her the potty at the gas station, and drive 1 min down the road to the nearest fastfood place for lunch. By the time you get there, voila! She's great in a harness too, so if we get food to eat outside, I just get a leash attached, and she eats under a shade tree with us. Once we get to the hotel for the night, she gets so happy she can't stop doing figure eights around your legs really fast (we call that move her "turbo").

and I was so worried this time last year about how she would behave during the car ride I was thinking about getting sedatives for her from the vet. couldn't ask for a better kitty companion to travel with.
