Happy 4th of July!
I love it when my bf takes me to work and picks me up later. Usually when I have to work, he goes to one of his jobs instead of for once taking a day off for himself. This time he's staying at the new home, doing some stuff for me, and waiting for me to get off work. 😍

So I was just sitting here drinking out of my "future veterinarian" tervis tumbler and thought.... I should share it with everyone in case they want one! Never even thought about it until now. If you don't know anything about tervis tumblers, they are awesome! Made in FL, they insulate like a boss, don't sweat, can be used for hot or cold liquids, dishwasher safe, and they are lifetime guaranteed. agreed!for everyone that doesn't have it yet.
the weather definitely came up in essentially every appointment at work today.
and, i had fun with it for the first two days or so. 😳
but by last night, it was starting to get a little old when i realized i couldn't do laundry/can't really make any food.
most of our clients have had it since saturday/sunday and it's still coming up in nearly every appointment 🙂 big event!
Saturday i had major cabin fever. MUST GET OUT OF HOUSE!!! and sunday the resignation set in and i just went back to bed on the air mattress in our basement.
we at least have a gas stove so cooking was do-able. the problem was more what to cook since most things would have come out of the fridge that was off limits! definitely enjoyed not having to do dishes for 2 days though (went with disposable)

I think it only fits on their water bottles. They do have other lids as well, but this one is awesome. It never, never leaks! 😍

looks like i'll be ordering a new water bottle for school then, i love tervis! we have a new "it must physically snap shut" rule for our lecture halls making the other lids out (though i'm sure we rule breakers will still do it haha). it is a step up from the previous - spill proof, water only and anything else had to go in the "school" cup you could purchase that was most definitely not spill proof and really cheaply made.

DO IT!!!! They are AWESOME! They keep drinks cold for HOURS even in direct sunlight. I once made tea at work, but wanted to cool it down. We don't have ice, so I just stuck it in the freezer... forgot about it... came back 4 hours later and the damn tea was still HOT!

I was kind of dragged to it for my sister's bachelorette party... otherwise I'd never have paid to see it. I didn't think the hot guys (not Channing or Conaughey... bleh) made up for the terrible story and cinematography 🙄
My rave: Actually having a holiday off is awesome. I was on ICU for the last one (Memorial Day) and had to go in anyway.

PMS, I thought about you at work last weekend. There were three really cute Dachshunds at the hospital! I usually don't like them too much, but they were adorable! 😍
About 90% of the glasses we had at home growing up were these. My grandparents also had tons of them. The different pictures make it so easier to remember who is using which one. They're pretty unbreakable as well. The cat routinely would send them flying off the counter and never broke any.
The not sweating thing is kind of amazing though and gets me into problems now with my glass glasses since I'm used to being able to leave glasses anywhere and not have any rings left behind.
gas stove for the win! we have one too, just ran out of food to cook on it really quickly.
i need to look up my coffee mug to share with everyone. it is amazing and physically unable to spill since you have to push a little button to be able to drink. love it.

I love sausage dogs, but they can have bad attitude problems. They do worm their way into your heart when you meet a sweet one.
My bf works for a guy who breeds them and he always tells us not to touch them because they're so mean. Why wouldn't you try a little bit then to make them more people friendly? 😕
But two of the three here were awesome. I didn't really interact with the third one..

I had two come in when I was the only person there once (cleaning up after we closed). The lady was banging on the doors saying they had both tried to eat a bufo toad, so I let her in. I tried to get the one to open it's mouth, and the little F-er bit me! Bufo poison stings!!! 👎

2nd I only like wieners because mine is awesome. She'd sooner die than bite someone and she NEVER barks. BUT I'm not really a fan of the breed as a whole because I have seen way more that were either standoffish or downright aggressive. Even with attempts at socialization.

Yea, I don't like the breed but I like some of the individuals. There is one that I used to babysit for an announcer at horse shows. Really awesome dog. 😍

My SO is awesome. 😀 My laptop had been having some overheating problems over the last weeks, and finally the fan totally crapped out yesterday. Turns out, he had ordered me a laptop cooling pad from newegg like a week ago after hearing my screams of irritation when it froze for the 7928783th time, and it arrived today. It's been working like a charm.

I actually like Magic Mike. I didn't think there was going to be a story (shows how much I paid attention beforehand) and I liked the one they had because I had no expectations for it. I just wish it had come out a month earlier so I could have seen it for my bachelorette party. I ended up watching it with my mom and sister.

we have tons in grenada, and one of my ER cases was a vet student whose Boston picked it up in its mouth and started to eat it but my grabbed it out really quickly. just that small amount of exposure led to him seizing for at least an hour (and this was with him getting every drug we had from our ECC specialist!). after that he went on a diazepam CRI over night and looked fantastic in the morning. he's done this 3 times 🙄
usually its more like uncontrollable seizuring, coma, death 🙁
side note-the native dogs LOVE to eat them, but they've learned to flip them over and eat them belly up where they aren't exposed to the toxins

Dick Vets (and possibly some other UKers and the Irish) get to meet her in the Fall, she is moving with me back to Scotland!

Rocco is a good boy. Loves everyone, although he tends to alarm bark at first (mostly likely as a result of being a rescue from an abusive owner). Once he gets over that he rolls over and is like "Come on, pet the sausage belly! You know you want to!!" and everyone always goes "Aww! Isn't that cute!!" and rubs his belly.
External cooling will only work for so long, without the internal fan being replaced your computer will meet the true death, sooner rather than later. A laptop absolutely needs internal cooling for long term survival. Well, unless you submerge the motherboard in a tub of mineral oil, but that makes it so much less portable.

Oh don't worry, we both know. The pad was bought before the fan fully crapped out, so it was meant to be supplemental and just ended up being a really thoughtful life saver. It's going to be left with him to work his computer engineer magic on when I leave the country in a week, haha.
On another, more rave-y note; I finally figured out what colour mismatch was royally screwing up my pictures in photoshop. 😀 So now it's happily chugging away at converting and saving all of them for me and I can finally get them to the wonderful lady at the zoo (and on facebook!)
