Congrats on the tough mudder! How was it? I have to admit though, you can't take offense to people man handling you to try get you out of mud holes:laugh: best thing I've done yet!

Have you done any other races? I just registered for a Neon Vibe 5k - I'm not ready to run the full 5k yet but there's no shame in walking

Most of races I've done people are super nice. Whether they're elite runners or they're walking, they'll cheer you on because they're just happy to see you out there. 🙂

Happened across a comic store and got to stop in. I got the full run of Brightest Day + something by Neil Gaiman, and got a free set of lantern rings when I checked out! This makes me ridiculously happy. 😀

It was so great! I have some wicked looking bruises but I'm already looking into another one. The worst obstacle for me was the Arctic Enema 😀 I'd take electrocution over that a million times over. I did the ColorMeRad 5k recently which was pretty fun if you're looking for a low key race. Thinking about doing a half marathon next.... My boyfriend is doing the Disney Marathon in January, I'm so jealous because Ill be in class 🙁 he is a crazy man though and registered for the Goofy Challenge which is the half marathon on Saturday and then the full marathon on Sunday

I'm happy because when I went to my work cafeteria to get a salad, they had hot, sliced chicken breast on the bar. Beats the hell out of my sad little peanut butter sandwich.

Unfortunately, lunch time always results in a near comatose state that renders me incredibly inefficient for the next 1.5 hours. I'll be so much more productive once classes start and I'm part-time. Right now, sitting in a cubicle for nine hours a day is mentally and physically unchallenging. Plus, my data is not in so I can't even begin the bulk of my project. I'm getting paid, so I should probably just enjoy it.

We set our wedding date today 🙂

My temporary internship with the state public health office may get extended into a part time position. I don't know what the pay will be and I only partly know what the new duties are (creating asthma education materials for K-12), but, a consistent stream of non-loan money will be rather refreshing. (I swear that's not a pee reference and I AM an adult, maybe.)

Also, I may get to refer to myself as a Sanitarian in Training... a SIT.

I got a letter today from my state vet board saying they are going to authorize me to take the NAVLE. Holy crap I'm almost a vet!

Woohooo!!!!

I signed up for a full course load this fall... math, English, humanities, and a chem. The former 3 are web, and the chem is lecture... Here we go! 😱

All day yesterday I felt sad and edgy. I'm having minor issues with the bank, a friend bailed on a kayaking day trip and the house was a mess.

My SO and I were bottling wine. I sat down once I was done. I felt tired and cranky. Darius Rucker comes on the radio with Wagon Wheel (one of my favs). My SO comes over smiling and holds out his hands to dance. We danced around like fools for half the song and I couldn't help but laugh and have fun. My spirits were instantly lifted but I had tears in my eyes because I suddenly realized (again) how much I'm going to miss him when I leave for vet school. I love how that after 7 years we can still share silly moments like that together and thoroughly enjoy one another's company.

Our Brand new washer/ dryer were just delivered!!!! Yippee! ( when we first moved in we didn't have them.. Contacted the rental company and said Hey- we requested a W/D!!! Apparently they forgot and gave all the W/D to other tenants... So they bought brand new ones for us!!! Yaaay, so excited!)

Now time to do some laundry!!

Do you find it somewhat amusing as an adult that you get excited over a W/D?

I do. That's one of the things I can't wait to get when I move. I used to be content with shared laundry facilities, until the day some numb-nut at my apartment complex thought that vomit chunks would rinse out in the wash. They don't.

So life is pretty good right now.

Lemoncat had her dental--she has some evidence of stomatitis, but it is not really widespread. She need two lower incisors extracted because of resorptive lesions, but she had a cold laser treatment, and is starting interferon treatment. Hopefully this will hold her for a while.:-D

I had a procedure done for my headaches three weeks ago. I have seen amazing improvement already (75% or so). I am so happy I can't even tell you.

My mom's school (she owns a preschool) is moving locations to a new build. Enrollment has been down, but my parents thought it was mostly the poor location (they were previously located in the basement of a church). She has already gotten two inquiries from parents that had previously decided not to enroll their kids (we're thinking because of the location). I am so excited for her! And sad because I can't be there to help her decorate/set up/move. The school just started being built last week and we're hoping it's going to be ready for September (it's looking like it will!).

Vet school starts in three weeks! EEEEEK!

My sister is here to visit for a couple of weeks. She can be difficult to live with sometimes, but I'm happy to say we haven't had any issues so far. I'm really happy to have her company and even happier that she's grown up a lot since I've really spent time with her.

Pushing Daisies is on sale at amazon for about half off. My mom has a program going at her work where you wear a pedometer and earn Amazon gift cards. With all the points we've gotten I got Pushing Daisies and all ten seasons of Friends for about $5.

Move to NYC and you will see millions of adults get excited about having a washer/dryer. Seriously, going to the laundromat blows. Having a washer/dryer at our new place is probably the TOP thing I am most excited about!! 😀

Very true!! I'm very happy with our new W/D... I've already ran it 5 times lol the dryer is a bit loud, but nothing we can't handle.. I like that it doesn't take a stupid amount of time for each load.. Basically all my clothes are clean and put away, now just washing my new sheets and some blankets I used to put around furniture during the move. yippee!!

My kitty missed me. I'm trying to appreciate all of the cat cuddles I'm getting right now. 😍 (instead of doing laundry.....hehe)

Got to hang out with a few HS friends at the cutest tea shop today! And one friend who was at LSU for undergrad promised to show me a bunch of cool stuff in BR (bubble tea bar, farmers' market, I don't remember what all). 🙂

Well I'm flying to NY after all! Spur of the moment trip to see my SO... I had decided to not go and just wait for him to come down here in 2 weeks, but he decided to go ahead and get the ticket for me! 😍 😍

Two raves! My little boy waved bye to me for the first time this morning, and they have peanut butter M&Ms in the vending machine. 🙂

I randomly called up an equine vet who works near my in-laws live, set up a few days with her, and I'm really glad I did! She and I get along really well, the techs and receptionists are fantastic at making people feel welcome in the clinic, and I got to see some pretty cool stuff in just the 2 days I was there. I'm going back next week for a few more days. Wish it was more, but I have a feeling I will come back during clinics...

I just now, FINALLY received my financial aid package for this year (after having to pester them to give me the information 🙄).

Because the exchange rate is dropping from 1.7 to 1.65, I will be borrowing $2,000 less this year, but actually receiving MORE money in British pounds than I did last year. 😀

I just made some garlic fried rice and it was ridiculously delicious. I am very much eyeballing the other half of it that's still in the pan... 😀

I got off the wait list for genetics lab! I'm so excited since I really wanted to take it (I haven't liked any of the labs I've had so far but this class is supposed to be super cool).

This weekend is tax free weekend in TN, so I held off buying a macbook until I could get it without paying 9.25% sales tax. Decided to go through Best Buy and while there, the salesperson told me that if I had a .edu email address, I could get a coupon for $100 off any macbook. So, brand new MacBook Pro is now mine for just $899 😀😀

Got free paint from ACE Hardware this morning + borrowing my aunt & uncle's painting supplies = free accent wall in my bedroom! It's starting to feel like home around here 🙂

Had an amazing night last night... definitely still trying to settle in and get used to this city, but I am well on my way!

As part of my internship transitioning into a temporary part-time job, I will be registering as a "sanitarian-in-training."

I found out yesterday that my previous internships in the USDA and other "public health/regulatory" areas may count toward the 2 year work experience requirement to sit the test to become a registered sanitarian in the state of Ohio. My supervisor is going to find out for me next week.

Also, I'll be making more money than I've ever made, regardless of the part-time status. No more $10/hour crap around campus. 🙂

I am actually glad I don't have my own W/D because I don't want to get used to the convenience; I move too much to have it be written into my standard of living. I went from a dorm room (and I was happy) to a 220 sq.ft. apartment with no kitchen (hotplate, minifridge, and sink only) (and I was happy) to a 600 sq.ft. apartment with an actual kitchen (and I was happy) to, as of yesterday, an 800 sq.ft. apartment with a full kitchen/dining area and a dishwasher (and I'm assuming I'll be happy).

I need to have my next one be a tent outside or something before I end up needing an in-unit butler

My dad is probably going to land a job in FL!

Which means, as somebody who is interested in aquatics, I could have in state tuition for UF! 😀

I'm excited!

June 2015, class of 2020. I'd be able to establish residency by then.

Yeah but he's looking in the Daytona Beach area and Boca Raton as well.

Gotcha. Just checking 🙂

I get you.

I have no clue how I'm going to get that Animal Science credit. :scared:

Probably online, my UG doesn't offer it.

Huge shout out to MSU. They did a bang up job hosting the Merial-NIH Symposium. Everyone was super nice. And this small town girl and her AVC mates were astounded by the school itself. 😱 It's MASSIVE! Lovely campus, delicious ice cream, great people! I just wish we would have gotten there sooner on Thursday or left later today so we could have gotten to tour the VTH.

Reunited a dog with its owners today! Went to wander around the vet school and saw to police officers in the parking lot with a dog and one of the techs from the hospital checking for a microchip. Then when we left a half hour later we found the dog on the nearest busy road wandering by itself... Pretty sure when they didn't find a microchip the cops just dumped it down the street. 😡

Good news was it was super super nice so I called him over to my car and put him in. Called animal control (who are super nice out here) and they met us over at the humane society. But then it turned out there was a lost dog post on craigslist for the dog, so we just drove him home. It was excellent! He was adorable.

Somehow managed to be scheduled fir 4 days off in a row.

Don't even take it until you get accepted. Animal science and nutrition can be taken the summer between being accepted and matriculating. Many many people do it that way so no worries! 🙂 👍

I am currently being paid to sit in a room and browse Reddit/SDN/etc while keeping an eye on a mama dog with her 2 day old puppy. 😀

Thanks for letting me know. 🙂

Like a boss! Puppies are so cute... x3

Today my "on 24/7 cage rest" foster puppy
Pooped outside !!!! You have no idea how hard it's been.
