im a little confused about what form of RBC is seen in which type of anemia. for exam the RR says tear drop cell may be seen in patients with B12 deficiency, myelofibrosis, and thalassemia but FA only mentions the myelofibrosis.

can someone make this clear for me.

don't know the details of RBC morphology anymore, but would recommend consulting the authority on pathology (Big Robbins) whenever you are confused by conflicting data.

FA leaves out a lot of cases where something might apply. For example, they might list interstitial nephritis or torsades under just the drugs most commonly associated with those side effects, and not all that can possibly cause them. Good for board purposes but sometimes confusing when going from source to source. Just keep in mind that FA intentionally leaves out some details that it/they don't believe are likely to be relevant for step 1 questions.

And Robbins isn't always right either... but it's a heck of a lot more complete than the FA path. Good idea to check with more primary sources like Robbins when you have questions from FA, and make your little notes in the FA margins.
