I was wondering if anyone knew of any good RC book(s) I can buy that have practice passages similar to the DAT. My advisors and friends said that you don't need to study for the RC but I don't want to study so hard in everything else and potentially do bad on the RC. I would prefer a book vs an online thing (unless printable) because I have to go to London (8 hour flight👎) and I would like to just do some to get used to the format of the RC etc. Also, is math destroyer sufficient to study for the math or is there any other material I should use. Lastly, is Chad's QR any good? (strengths/weaknesses of the QR videos).

Thanks so much!

Let me start with QR since it's easier to discuss in terms of study materials. For my QR studying, I mainly relied on Math Destroyer. I think it covers all topics of the QR section nicely by giving pretty detailed questions/solutions. It has most representative questions of the real DAT QR section. I supplemented Math Destroyer with Chad's QR videos. They helped me brush up on my techniques as well as showed me shortcuts to arrive at general DAT QR problems (age problems, rate problems, probabilities, etc). The weakness of the QR videos is that they don't have many problems to accompany them. However, that's what Math Destroyer is for! 🙄

For the RC section, I'm not sure if there are any specific books dedicated to the RC section of the DAT. You can't really "study" for the RC section. It's just a matter of practice. You can "study" for it though by using any technique you want to (either reading the passage entirely before answering questions, or going straight to the questions and picking out the answers in the passage). I would recommend Crack DAT Reading to practice the RC section. It's just about maintaining the balance between speed and comprehension of the passage. Practice will make perfect for this section. I personally read the passage entirely before I answered the questions. I started out with going over the time limit, but as I got better with my speed reading (you eventually learn to skip over details but still maintain the context of the passage), my scores improved.

Hope that helped! Good luck!

Thanks a lot. I usually go by that method with RC because answering the questions is faster and more accurate but it does take time to read but well worth it to get it right.
