Hey -
I have been using Kaplan's method for the reading comprehension so far, but I think it takes too much time. How did you guys go about the rc section? I'm just looking for some suggestions and I'd love to hear any strategies that worked well for you. Thanks!

I skimmed through the passage first then I read each question and searched through the passage for the answer. The initial skim gave me some idea of where to look in the passage.

This is good advice. Reading through the passage is a waste of time. This method will give you plenty of time to finish, since when you search for a few answers you will know exactly where to look for the rest.

The questions on RC on the actual DAT are more or less in order (with a few random ones interspersed in the middle). What worked for me was reading each question as i read/skimmed the passage and moving on to the next. By the time I'm done reading/skimming the passage, I have already answered the majority of questions. This method saved me a great deal of time and I would actually finish the section with time to spare (whereas before I was didn't have enough time to answer all the questions).

milas method is good, just make sure you stay some what attentive when skimming....the worst thing is to get frustrated when you cant find an answer, and then start loosing your head...try to pay attention when skimming through so that you can go back when you need to to find other answers, at least youll have a general idea of where to look.

I agree....skim the passage and then search for the answers which will be very clear and straightforward. Just dont freak out if you miss one....keep going and come back to it...all the answers are right in front of you...no tricks.

Well what i did for the reading sectionw as for eahc passage i took out 3 or 4 min to read it through to get an idea of what was goign on and that way when i approached the questions i had some idea of where too look for them. Also i would definitely reccomend using TopScore for the reading because its almost hand in hand on hwo the DAT reading is. Good Luck!
