I applied to 14 MD schools this past application cycle and got rejected from all schools without a single interview. I am a Colorado resident and ORM. I need help figuring out what I can do better this next cycle so I can get into a school.
My stats are:
cGPA- 3.96
sGPA- 3.94
MCAT- 509
Chem/Phys-128
CARS-127
Bio/Biochem-130
Psych-124
The Schools were:
Colorado (State School)
U of A
Iowa
Wisconsin
Indiana
South Carolina
MCW
Loyola
Rosalind
Temple
Drexel
Wake
Tulane
Creighton
I graduated a year early from undergrad. I took a gap year and have been working as a CNA at a hospital that I worked at while also in school. I have over 3000 clinical hours. I also was a camp counselor, a TA, I volunteer at my church and a local hospital. I was also in a sorority and served on an elected committee for 2 years. I did a senior thesis and that is my only research experience. I am planning on retaking the MCAT. Any advice on what I can do to improve my chances would be greatly appreciated.

Your GPA and MCAT are good and okay. Clinical experience good.
Any shadowing of physicians?
Did you apply early?
Who were you letter writers? did they know you? any red flags?
Did you get your PS edited?
How do you choose your schools?

I suggest 2 approaches to your reapplication. The first is to apply broadly to at least 10 DO schools. You are competitive for all DO schools and you have RVUCOM in Colorado. The second is to apply to more and appropriate schools. Iowa, Arizona, South Carolina, U Wisconsin and Indiana accept very few non residents with your MCAT and no connection to the state. Consider these MD schools:
Colorado
Vermont
Quinnipiac
New York Medical College
Seton Hall
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
Penn State
Eastern Virginia
Virginia Commonwealth
West Virginia
NOVA MD
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Medical College Wisconsin
Rosalind Franklin
St. Louis
Loyola
Creighton
California University (new school)
Kaiser and Roseman if they open in 2019
An early application is important so apply in June and submit all your secondaries by July

Thank you for your responses!
I did some shadowing about 45hours. I sis some in an emergency department and the other with a pediatric hospitalist who wrote me a LOR. My other LOR were from my supervisor at work, 2 science professors, and 1 non science. I thought all of them knew me well enough to write a decent letter and I don't think they would have wrote a bad one. One professor didn't get his letter in till September. I did apply a little late, I got my secondaries in the end of August. I had my PS reviewed by a few different advisors but I decided to start over for this cycle. I chose schools that seemed to be in my MCAT range and the state schools I chose were states that my family was from or one of the doctors I work with went to that school. Thanks again for the help.
