Hey guys,

So I ended up on two waitlists this cycle and haven't been taken off. I am currently preparing to re-apply and had some questions. I will be including a new academic reference, and a new PT reference that I did not use for letter last year. However, I am torn what to do about my 2nd PT reference. I currently work as a PT aide (orthopedic) and that has been a new experience I have had this past year. I will be asking one of the PTs from the clinic I work at for a letter. For the second letter I am torn between asking a different PT at the same clinic that I work at, or asking one of the PTs from my old shadowing experiences(pediatrics) that wrote me a recommendation letter this past cycle. Does anyone that has re- applied have any insight on this? Would asking one of the same PTs I used last year as a reference hurt my chances as a re - applicant? Thank you!

I applied for 3 cycles before finally getting in. As far as references went, I tried to get 1 new reference per cycle. I did use some references from previous cycles because I wanted to use a reference from each shadowing experience I had. Hope this helps!

Use whoever you feel knows you best and will be able to provide the best information on you. Also, one thing to consider is if any of the PTs are alumni at programs you have interest in i would recommend asking them. I'm convinced it can help if they can put a good word for how you would excel in that program because of knowing you and knowing the program.

I used the same references, but had them edit it and add new information so it included everything I did to improve my application in my year off.
