Graduating senior that's currently on waitlists at MCG, Morehouse and LECOM. I want to start my reapply cycle as soon as possible and need some help on where I should apply.
  • GPA: 3.65
  • MCAT: 509 (129/128/127/125)
  • Residence: GA
  • Race: Asian female
  • Undergrad: Cell and Molecular Biology, with a Spanish minor; at very small state school connected with MCG
  • Clinical Experience:
    • over 200 hours in various hospitals, in-state and out of state
  • Shadowing Experience:
    • Overall ~80 hours shadowing physicians in the following specialties: nephrology and neonatology
  • Other extracurricular activities:
    • Tutor undergraduate students in spanish
    • part of Zeta Tau Alpha, and held several leadership position in three years including Vice President, Social Director, Judicial Chair, Values Chair
    • Part of a student org that deals exclusively with alumni, friends of the university and donors at events
    • Participated in Jaguar Miracle
    • Served as a translator for local clinic by med students at MCG
    • Served as a scribe for local clinic run by med students at mCG
  • Relevant honors or awards:
    • Dean’s list
    • Honors college/major
    • completed my Honors thesis and presented it twice
    • Invited to multiple honor societies but was unable to pay dues

@Docnish willing to help with your personal statement 🙂 I graduated with a writing minor and I'm well-versed when it comes to grammar and such!
 
Can you include scribe and medical translator in your clinical volunteering hours? And you don't really have any non-clinical humanitarian type hours listed at all.Do you have any of these activities?

would definitely agree on the non-clinical service hour idea. I was asked more about these during the interview process than my clinical service.
 
I would get out of your comfort zone of student orgs for volunteering and out into the community to help those that are less fortunate. Then, you can use this as an update for schools throughout the year! Schools love to see your "altruistic" side. I agree with Faha's list
