Last cycle I applied to 8 schools, and got interviewed at 7.5 of the schools were California schools.still on the waiting list for all of them.my stats are the same.Working on my interview skills.

I have a question for the personal statement should I add that I'm a reapplicant?everyone I talked to says yes.but doesn't it look bad?

Thanks

You can maybe use to turn it into a positive thing. Like how you've overcome certain challenges, prove your resolute willingness to follow your dream...I think it's up to you though.

Any one else have an opinion?

no I dont think you need to say youre a reapplicant. you should add new experiences though that you did during the past year and update it a little.

if you got interviews at mostly all the CA schools you must have great stats. I think you should look into getting an interview coach and asking those schools for feedback on why you were rejected

When I was re-applying I only added a sentence or two to the end of my previous personal statement talking about what I had done since I last applied. I don't think you need to re-write your personal statement unless there were significant issues with the original.

I included new stuff I did but my question is should i directly mention I'm a reapplicant.my personal statement is really good the interviewer at unlv told me.

As illumident pointed out, there is a section on the application were you indicate whether you previously applied to dental school before, so no you don't have to mention you are a reapplicant in your personal statement. If you are perfectly happy with your PS, send it away, don't think it'll matter that much. If not, you COULD add how you improved your application over the past year.

What do you think was the difference for you in going from applying one year to getting into Columbia in a later cycle? I may or may not be a re-applicant

A 28AA 30TS. But I'm sure he put more work into the application overall from what I understand when feralis applied a second time

No, I didn't I dont think you should either. Honestly its a waste of space on your PS. What you should do is add new experiences into your statement/update it, get some new letters if you can if not nbd. There is a question on the addsas app that asks if you applied to dental school before just put YES for that. Then there is a follow up question asking how you improved your application. Here you should mention any new experiences, shadowing, and community service

Good luck!

My first application was never completed because I hadn't taken the DAT, once that was done I was able to apply the next cycle and get considered by schools.

I am reapplying right now but was under the impression adea would save some parts of your previous application. Like wtf would I have to resubmit my transcripts. Also, what do I do about my recommendations? I have to ask my professors and bug them to submit them again? This is so frustrating

You didn't use interfolio the first time?

Prior to this cycle I know it used to carry over everything except your transcripts (which need to be re-verified even if you haven't taken any new courses) and the letters. That may have changed since the format of the application got changed up a bit this year.

If you didn't use Interfolio, you will need your LOR writers to resubmit to AADSAS.

Yea I've accepted it now that I'm just going to have to do it all again. It's just annoying because I'm starting a 1 yr masters in the fall and was hoping to have a unstressful application process lol guess that was never going to be possible
