I know it may seem to be still early in the process to think about re-applying for next year; in my case i think it is about time for me to prepare to reapply. All my schools are "received/under-review" and i only have average stats, so my chances of getting into a dental this year is slim. 🙁

but how many of you r thinking toward that direction already? Or do u think it's still early in the process to think about re-applying?

Thanks for your response.

I'm already thinking about it, because my stats are also low and I have yet to received even one interview. The only concern I have between now and next application cycle is how to improve stats. It is not as if we have a great deal of time.

Hello,

Yes, it is too early or wise to apply for next year at this time especially if your GPA is going to increase by the time for next year application. However, if you know that your GPA may take a dive or one of the science classes may get you a C in, then you need to time your application properly. Once you get in, it does not matter what grades you get after the fact as long as it is not the conditional acceptance. DP

I am right there with you buddy, I am re-entering undergrad this spring so that I can raise my GPA's. Don't get me wrong....I still think that I could get in this year but I just want to plan for the worst case scenario. Thinking ahead is always smart.

What is your plan......I can give you advice for the DAT (if you need to improve). As for me, I am going to take the hardest semester ever.

I'm with you guys...i think the only thing thts holding me back is my DAT scores. I'm already thinking about re-applying next year, and start studying for DAT and take it in may.

Don't give hope, WE CAN DO IT!!!!

yes. welcome to the club. i'm also considering re-applying next year because I only have received 1 interview and my AADSAS would be considered "late" compared to many people, so I think that may be why I didn't get any other interviews.

My DAT is also low in a couple of the academic areas. I may re-take the DAT too.

There's nothing wrong with planning your re-application, but relax a bit. It's still very, very early. Don't forget, all the people who were accepted to multiple schools on December 1st have to decide where to put a deposit by January 15th. Most of them will make a decision and only reserve one spot on that date.

I heard from my first choice school today and am going to decline my two other offers immediately.

I hope everybody else in the same position will take the time to make a call rather than just let the 45 days lapse.

With those score. I can say beyond a doubt that you are getting in somewhere.

Yea, i'm with you guys, my DAT scores are not well at all. I am planning on retaking them for Jan. 24th, but knowing the AADSAS they probably won't reach them or my schools in time. I'm just dreading having to recollect those letters of recommendations. Hey if i have some of the letter of recommendations do they have to be signed, or if they are a copy is that ok, or do they have to be resigned?

Thanks...
