Quick Question:

By the time I retake my few science courses and am ready to apply, I should have an overall GPA of around 3.0-3.2 with a science GPA of 3.4-3.6

Mind you these are retakes (all in all, around 6) because I screwed up from the first semester of my Jr. year thru last semester (one semester of my Sr. year).

Do Post-Bacc classes help my undergrad GPA or is it separate?

Thanks a ton!

Post-bacc grades are separate.

I have a friend who chose not to graduate his senior year and continued to take upper level sciences classes as an undergrad in attempt to raise his GPA (he retook most of his pre-reqs too), so those grades counted as a part of his undergrad. The downside to this is from the outside it looks like it took him 6 years to graduate, although it can be explained otherwise.

Good luck!

Did he get in, lol

Yes he did, he'll be starting med school this coming fall. He graduated last spring (08) and is working full-time until he starts.

i applied and I got in like 2 weeks ago

Post-bacc grades are separate.

If you look at how your GPAs are presented on AACOMAS, this is both true and not true.

Cumulative GPAs are the most prominent. Postbac grades are included in the cumulative undergrad numbers. Cumulative GPAs are what are used in autoscreens.

Less prominent are the year-by-year breakdowns, in which postbac work is on its own line.
