Hello,

I need to re-take the third quarter of calculus-based physics. The school where I can re-take the class is on a semester system. The semester course would be a greater amount of units than the quarter, which from what I understand will allow for grade replacement.

Below is the comparison of topics covered. In order to have grade replacement, am I going to have to take both the 1st and 3rd semester of physics again so that it covers all the topics that were taught in the 3rd quarter?

1st Quarter: Vectors; motion, force, and energy.

2nd Quarter: Fluids; heat; electricity and magnetism.

3rd Quarter: Waves and sound; optics; quantum ideas; atomic and nuclear physics; relativity.

1st semester:
Vectors, motion, forces, energy, momentum, oscillators, & properties of waves.

2nd semester:
Electricity and magnetism.

3rd semester: Fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, optics & modern physics.

Thank you.

Just retake the 3rd semester and move on. Call AACOMAS and double check if you'd like the real answer.

I thought there was a thread awhile back that said unless you retake the whole thing, they generally won't do replacements between quarter and semester systems.
