Obviously, if you wanted to go to an MD school and you you retake the class, the previous grade wont be replaced. Although, I heard that if you retake a class and apply for a DO school, the grade is completly replaced. Is and of that true?

I have heard that when calculating your GPA they will replace your initial poor grade with the retake grade, but it doesn't mean that they don't still know what the first grade was. However, I know someone who works on the adcom of one of the DO programs and he says that they mostly look at your last 100 hours of coursework, and for the most part, completely discount anything prior to that. So, just make sure your last 100 hours are solid.
