I'm retaking the DAT on 10/14/09, my AADSAS was mailed out to my (13) DS choices on 07/10/09. My GPA 3.67 & DAT AA 17 TS 16 PAT 16. Does anyone know how this will effect my chances in getting in to DS assuming I do much better on the DAT??

"much better" is vague...you wanna hold on to your question until you're done.

Why r u taking it so late? I think mid-october is kinda late...but its up to u 🙂

Hi...yes, you have to wait 90 days before you can retake and I took the DAT on July 13, 2009. Also, (much) better means at least a 20 TA/TS/PAT.

Dental School admissions don't work based on students' assumptions. So instead of assuming stuff, focus on your studying so you can in fact improve your scores. But I can tell you one thing, retaking the exam in mid Oct is somewhat late, and that will probably hinder your chances.
Good Luck👍

If your GPA is from a competitive college and you get 21 or 22+ on DATs, its hopeful. My friend took it mid Sept, got a 20, had a 3.7 Science GPA at UCLA undergrad, and got the interviews for the UCLA dental school "waiting list spots" (that MIGHT open up) cus all the seats were already filled. He lucky got in cus someone else has decided to decline LA's offer. And I know Pacific fills its seats fast. You'll be competitive but there might not be too many seats open for you.

Also, UCLA starts looking at apps the latest, they begin in Oct. Still, he was able to just slip in.
