Hello fellow SDNers!

I had a few questions hopefully someone can help me out with. I go to a jesuit university which has some rules that you cannot take courses from another institution and receive credit from them. I wanted to retake chemistry 1 and orgo 1. Also, I wanted to take biochem. A few or all these classes over the summer at a Community College. I have no room to take these classes at my institution.

1) is it okay for me to re-take courses at a CC for grade replacement for DO? or do they frown upon that. The only reason I want to at a CC is becuase I/my family cannot afford to take at Univ.

2) will my school give me trouble?

1) General opinion is that it's not as good as taking it at a Uni.. but it's better to retake at a CC than not retake it at all (for lower division science courses, I think its fine. Just be sure to have some higher level science to demonstrate you can handle the material).

2) You school won't count it towards your graduation credit, but they can't do anything about you taking the classes elsewhere.

So my university cannot get me in trouble or anything? Maybe I can fit into my schedule to take biochem at the Univ. so that will look better?

On a side note, I wanted to know if I saved some pre-req labs for later in senior year after I have applied is that okay?

Trouble with who? They just won't take those credits and apply them towards your Uni GPA/Graduation requirement. You're fine for AACOMAS application purposes.

Like which courses? It's probably better to take them while taking the lecture so you know the material fresh and can apply that knowledge.
