Reaaplication how does it work???

Hello,

I applied in Dec adn haven't heard back from schools yet, not surprised, though. I am considering reappl. Can someone explain how the reapplication process works? Do we need to submit the ENTIRE packet again? (LORs, Transcripts, Essays) in addition to updates?

Do people submit the same primary and secondary essays again? Really how much of who we are and what we think changes in 6 months?...

What have people done the second time around to get accepted, in addition to applying early?

Remember everything you did the first time? Do it again.

In addition, rewrite your essays and improve them, and change something up on your application. I retook the MCAT, scored 6 points higher, and it worked like a charm. Nothing else on my application changed.

Oh yes, and next time do NOT wait until December to apply!!!

1) Retake MCAT but only if you need to in April...I wouldn't automatically re-release your scores until you see them even though it might cost you
2) Submit AMCAS with new essay (about time off is always good or something like that) in first 2 weeks of June
3) Get all your secondaries in by late July early August

You'll get interviews unless you got a 2.0 or something


Apply to 30 schools...yes at least!


The only thing more expensive than applying to med school is applying again and again!

Many schools will hold meetings with the dean for rejected applicants. At my state school, the dean will actually look over your app and write you a note, pointing out your weak spots. Use the opportunity to talk to the Dean, fix those weak spots (because they're the one who'll grant you the interview). Once you submit, send them updates and remind him/her that you did what they asked.
