So I just got my first acceptance today... Penn State Hershey 🙂

I thought that after I found out I got into a medical school, I'd be completely overfilled with so much happiness that I wouldn't know what to do with myself. But actually, I feel kind of numb! I've always been a good student and all, but the road to medical school has been such a shaky confidence game for me, and this dream of becoming a doctor has just felt so unattainable for so long. It definitely hasn't hit me yet that I'm in somewhere and the all of the sweat and tears have paid off. Actually, if anything, I almost feel a little sad that now it's official that college will be over soon and I'm embarking on something so new and so huge...

Maybe I'm just feeling a little emotional because my grandmother, who passed away unexpectedly a few days before my Penn State interview, was one of my biggest supporters through this whole process and I wish she could be here to get the news.

Anyway, enough of my sappy ramblings... I am just curious, for those of you who have received that first acceptance (and for those who haven't yet, it's coming soon I'm sure!)....what was your first reaction? Can anyone relate to the feelings I had?

To the OP: Please disregard the rudeness of my neighbor to the east. I think this is a pretty interesting topic...

I'm a reapplicant. If I get in this year, I think there will be a mad dash to the car, followed by squealing rubber like in the Simpsons, then a straight 5-hour drive to Vegas for strippers, gambling, and alcohol.

Strippers? You do know there are hookers in Vegas, right?

Seriously, if strippers are what you are after, then just go to City of Industry, CA.

Enjoy it. It all goes by fast. I loved the medical school experience - getting in part sucked!

Contrary to popular notion, prostitution is not legal in Clark county, Nevada (and therefore Las Vegas), due to the county's population density.
The more you know.
