Magazine/news articles on the current healthcare debate. This topic came up in most of my interviews, and you want to have an opinion on how to move towards a long-term solution.

I read and reviewed my schools "core competencies" as talking points, I had read a book about plague in England and the broad street pump, and also reviewed some newsworthy articles about healthcare reform. I made sure to relate some of my EC activies to the competencies when talking. He asked my impressions of the healthcare debate, not necessarily what I would do to fix it (although others have gotten that question), but I think it was more a way for him to tell me his opinion 🙂 The book came up after he suggested a book for me to read, so it kind of worked its own way into the conversation. If possible, try to read some sort of halfway medically related novel/non fiction book. Definitely brush up on the healthcare debate.

Definitely read the school's website so you know how that school fits you.

Read the news headlines everyday for the weeks preceeding. doesn't take too long to browse the headlines on google news. You don't know if the interviewer will ask a casual question like "what did you think of that earthquake in Haiti?'' I don't think any interviewer would go so far as to stress you on small events, but know the big stuff.

Remember that ancient document they used to print everyday, i think it's called a newspaper.
