give me advice.i am so damn confused.
I got into 2 programs..gpr and school. now which do i choose.

gpr is in a community hospital 40,000/yr, certificate and licence after 2 yrs in a handful of states.

school...150,000 debt, dds degree , freedom to practice anywhere.

what do u think i should do?
does doing gpr increase the chances or getting into a speciality program?

Please help me decide . 😕 :scared: which should be 👍 and which should be 👎

What,s GPR? What are the requirements for it?

Personally I think GPR is way better with better work and training experience and NO debt.

Yes it does help you establish connections with speciality programs at the school with gpr and it does increase your chances to go into a speciality program.

Can you please tell me what your part 1 and part 2 scores are and how you applied and work experience etc., thanks alot and good luck with your decision. 👍

hi,
doing GPR looks good . but u should know that the insurance premiums will be high and also not many dentists will prefer to employ u. also i think that after doing GPR u have to work under a dentist for ever .
join the DDS and get a degree.
bye

Congrats on getting accepted to GPR and school.

Re: i am not planning to stay in US for long------------

If I am not going to settle here and money is not too much problem then I would
- complete GPR and then try to do some 1 year specialty/hands on/certificate courses in esthetic dentistry or implants or invisalign etc.,
ex: http://www.buffaloce.org/EDEC/esthprograms.html#residency
Any way goodluck.

thanx for your opinions. I read this thread http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=104562&highlight=gpr+pediatric
and did exactly the same.called a few post match programs. Interviewed in one of them and got in.
i am not planning to stay in US for long.....so gpr makes sense.
but getting a degree will be the best. hence the fix.

hamidi i have pmed u back.
