Basing off this post, if something like surfing is a hobby that you can put on the experience list, would then reading be considered one as well? Obviously not referring to school books, but something like let's say self improvement books. And I won't be saying it to show off or anything (oh I'm so smart, I always read), it's just that I spent a lot of time doing that particular hobby.

Or should I mention it somewhere else, not in the experience list.

Any input is appreciated.

You can include this activity under the Hobbies tab.

No you shouldn’t list it as a hobby. Surfing is a cool and interesting hobby, reading books just makes you look like a nerd /s

In reality, as @Catalystik alludes to, anything that you are passionate about and is really just for enjoyment or stress relief is fair game for the hobbies tab. I have hiking, aquaponic gardening and am thinking of putting on that I am an NPR sustaining member because why not?

I don't think you should put it - it makes you seem like you're trying to impress. They know you know how to read so why not use the space for something interesting. Something they would look at and be like 'I'd like to hear more about that'
