What are some good books to read up on management skills y'all??

I'm debating stepping into a PIC role again! Want to make the run for 200K this year but don't want to work every day picking shifts!!

or would it make more sense to put the effort into earning a Cali license and just picking OT shifts to break 200K? I hear Lemoore,CA is nice this time of year.

To quote Nancy Reagan: Just say no!

Either way, I have nothing to contribute to your actual question, so good luck.

I hated the book “The Oz Principle”. But it is a great guide on how to properly drink the Kool-aid. Fits in nicely with the process of “unfreezing” a certain company likes.

When would you say its worth it to become a manager?

Well, if I owned the place for one.

I wouldn’t want any part of being a PIC at a retail chain. Added responsibility, added liability, very little extra compensation (at least at the chain I’ve had experience at). But that’s just me. YMMV. Some people are made for the job.

At my company I would be granted a 9K annual increase. The expected annual bonus is around 14K for PIC at that particular store. The real money though comes in through the power of scheduling long shifts for myself and playing with the budget.

Though I dont really like supervising others and so much paperwork....

At the chain where I prn, the pay increase is only about $5K and the bonus is identical for all pharmacists at each store (unless one gets an unacceptable annual evaluation). At least in my district, not sure if that’s chain-wide. To me, $5K isn’t worth it.
