Hi all,
I hope this is the right place to put this. I'm a 2nd year dental student, and like most other members of this forum, we read and study a lot. I'm near-sighted, my rx is -1.75 in both eyes. I was wondering if it was best to remove my contacts and either read uncorrected, or with my glasses, or with the contacts in? I notice my eyes have been very strained lately and even brought me to believe I needed a stronger prescription. There was no change at the eye doctor recently, but I'm still unclear which is the best way for health/longevity of my eyes. Is it best to use glasses whenever possible? Is it ok to be switching from contacts to glasses later in the day?
Thanks!

I think I should add that the majority of the reading is on paper, with about 30% computer.

I have a posterior cavity that I need filled and my Dentist keeps trying to upsell me to use composite instead of amalgam. I tell him I am just a poor student and he stroke the price down from $75 to $65. Should I do it instead of amalgam which my insurance would cover completely? Lol if you pm me maybe we can work something out.

But seriously you should have asked your eye doctor about this or go to them now. This will get closed.

Lol. Like I said, I wasn't sure if this was the place. Figured it was a quick easy question. BTW, go for the composite. I do love amalgam and it certainly has its place, but if it's nothing too large composite is the way to go. More conservative to place. We hardly ever get anyone who wants the amalgam. Great price for NYC also, our school clinic charges twice that, also in the city. I pass your school all the time, if it's the one in midtown.
I'll give them a call. Thanks
