Hey, people whove already taken the DAT. During the break on the real test, do you know if the timer will begin right away and go into the reading comp section? My friend took the MCAT and said for him during the breaks, after the time is up, it went to the next screen (saying you are now starting blah section) but the timer does not actually begin until you press "next". Is it the same way for the DAT?

Thank you all so much!

It said it will go on to the Reading Comprehension immediately after the time is up. So the timer will start counting down. And get back to your computer before the 15 minutes are up because they have to check your pockets, use a metal detector on you, and check your finger print.

Yes, I believe it will start automatically even if you aren't there to click next. I would take a 5 min break (bathroom or whatever), then get back in there and spend the next 8 minutes preparing your sheet for QR (i.e. drawing unit circle, the trig functions/identities, any formulas you have trouble with) so that you will have less to think about when you are doing QR. I know that made my QR section easier, and helped me have plenty of time. Make sure to spend the last 2 minutes of your break thinking about reading though so you can jump right into that!

@Saiph - Check your fingerprint? wow I didn't know they do that. How would they verify if it's really you? Can you elaborate?

I read something about fingerprints when I signed up for the DAT and didn't know what it was about. Can you explain? ty

It'll go straight to the RC section.

It's a device where you put your index finger on and it just scans it. The proctor said it is used when you leave, and when you enter, but it doesn't take that long. It's pretty strict, I had a quarter in my pocket and they took it away! But it's just rules, they have to follow depending on the type of test.
