Hey everyone. I have my real DAT on Monday and have finished all of destroyer and am almost done going through destroyer a second time. I have also read through Feralis' notes and Kaplan (although Kaplan wasn't very good...) as well as my class notes from OChem. Below I will post my scores from tests 1-4 from bootcamp. Any advise on where I should go from here? My goal is to get above a 20 in each section.

Current plan-
Wednesday- Continue through second round of destroyer, practice PAT on bootcamp, QR in Math Destroyer
Thursday- Practice Test 5 Bootcamp
Friday- Review trouble spots, continue through second round of destroyer, PAT on bootcamp, QR in M.D.
Saturday- 2007 Practice test.
Sunday- Nothing (do something fun)
Monday- A few warm up questions and then the real thing!

Current Bootcamp scores: (bio/gc/oc/PAT/RC/QR)
Test 1: 24/19/19/21/20/20
Test 2: 25/22/20/23/18/19
Test 3: 21/22/18/23/20/21
Test 4: 19/21/29/22/22/21 (yes... Ochem is correct.)

Your scores look pretty solid. From what I've seen, most people score higher on the real thing than Bootcamp, so you seem to be in great shape! If you haven't already, check out the DAT questions of the day (http://datquestionoftheday.com/). You can sort by subject, and it's a good bank of random questions and explanations for free. Maybe go back through the Bootcamp tests you already did and see if you understand the mistakes you made before in like GC and OC (except in test 4. you're probably good there haha).
But honestly, I think you'll do well! The DAT isn't as hard as the practice tests, and you'll end up with a better score than you're expecting 🙂

Thanks for the feedback. I felt like my scores were pretty sporadic but it's nice to have someones perspective looking from the outside.

I agree you should score even higher on the real dat and look like you are in a good spot. What strategy are you using for reading comprehension?

Hey Stayflossin. Honestly? I tried a bunch of different methods from search and destroy to many others. What I settled with though was just reading the passage. I try to be as interested in what I'm reading as possible. After all they're scientific passages and we're all entering a science based field, why not try to be interested in what you're reading? I jot down a few words about each paragraph. I might write something like:
1) Range of shark
2) Size
3) Shark eats seals, fish, even land mammals
4) etc, etc, etc

You're scoring well and have a solid 5 day plan. Do you have a copy of the 2009 DAT? I'd recommend doing that instead of the 2007, but if you don't the 2007 will suffice. Take it easy on Sunday, although everyone I know ends up studying at least a little anyway. You're almost done, keep working and finish strong!

goldcrown17.

I like your study plan and especially that you are doing something fun on Sunday. On test day you will be refreshed and ready to Destroy the DAT! Try to remain as calm as possible, take your time and read questions carefully to avoid any silly mistakes.

Wishing you the best!

Nancy
