Someone said that aacomas and amcas calculates gpa differently. They said that aacomas does not count math but does count physics, biology and chemistry and they count the highest grades if you had to retake a class. My question is, do they count the highest grade of the repeated class ( ex. you took physics and got a D and then re-took it and got a B ) or do they count the highest grade out of all the times you had to repeat a class( ex. say for instance a student had used all their repeat options and took physics and got a D and re-took it again and got a B, does aacomas count the B or do you also have to figure in the D )? I hope i am making sense, i apologize if i am not, can anyone help?

If you retake a class, they only count the most recent grade. You get a D first, then replace with an A, the A is calculated into the GPA, the D is not. However the D will still be there on your transcripts to be seen during interviews and such, but won't be added in.

DO schools tend to be more forgiving for past mistakes, especially to non-tradtional students.
