Hi all, this is my first time posting here. I'm planning to take the MCAT end of May but I feel like I'm not ready so I' thinking to push back to end of June. I graduated college w a bio degree in 2024 and I am 27 rn. Currently I am CRC and I feel like I have a lot of ECs. IK I have to do really well on the MCAT (easier said than done). Is taking the MCAT at that time too late to apply for this cycle? Thank you in advance!

Stats:
3.6 overall gpa
3 Cs and 1 D in science and math courses overall
3 Withdrawals during college
CRC I: 200 hrs (still working), Scribing in person: 5000 hrs, Medical Tech: 2000 hrs, Undergrad Research assistant: 750 hrs + 1 publication, Tutor/TA: 300 hrs.

What is your sGPA? Do you have any non clinical volunteering besides tutoring? Where is your state of residence?

Welcome to the forums.

What help have you gotten with your MCAT prep? Are you studying alone?

Where have you sought advice about developing a strong application profile for a med school application?

My sGPA is around a 3.2. That's all the non clinical volunteering I have. Residence is PA. Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for replying! I'm using the kaplan on demand course. Since I work full-time, I have to take the course where I work on my own through it. I haven't had my application or stats looked at by any professional for medical school.

You should accumulate 150+ hours of non clinical volunteering such as food bank or homeless shelter since some schools screen at 150 hours. A late June MCAT is fine for all DO schools. For MD schools you should have your application complete and ready to submit when you receive your MCAT score in July. Post your score here when available and we can suggest schools.
