What happens to the epidural space after 1) laminectomy and 2) fusion?

I ask b/c as I'm a pain fellow and just want to know the reasoning why an interlaminar epidural steroid injection is usually not indicated for the above scenarios.

Thanks

I'd imagine this is because
1. There will be scar tissue and different anatomy.
2. Is there a reason you can't go one level above or below?
3. There could be part of the fusion mass preventing you from getting into the epidural space at that level

you question lack clarity... you can’t perform an interlaminar due to the ligament Flavium being altered at the level you can go above or below the level. In fusion usually the approach for a transformational can be block by the fusion mass... procedure that are indicated depends on the problem your treating
