Hey so I've been studying for the DAT the majority of the summer and I am pretty much ready except for chemistry. I am REALLY bad at chemistry and I am only getting like 40% of the practice questions on kaplan. I am writing the DAT Nov.5 (Canadian) so I still have a bit of time to study. Let's just say I know absolutely nothing in chemistry, what are the best ways/tools to use to learn and practice chem for the DAT. I've been reading a lot about Chad's videos and I want to know if it is worth it before I invest my time + money. Also what is KBB? I am willing to spend as much time on it as I can possibly afford so everyone's advice would be much appreciated. Essentially, I am willing to do whatever it takes, to get a solid score on chem, I just need a little guidance as how to do it/where to start.

CHADS, CHADS, CHADS.....Also, subscribe to Chads. He teaches you almost everything you need to know for Gen.Chem and O.Chem on the DAT specifically and he teaches it WELL. I learned more from his videos than I did from my entire undergrad. I remembered nothing from Gen.Chem or O.Chem and I have amazing notes on it all now. By the time I'm done studying, I'll be able to tutor it. You have plenty of time to use all his videos and kick butt.

Edit: KBB = Kaplan Blue Book. I bought it and I read through a few chapters in each section, and I now I use it to rest my condensing soda on top of so it doesn't leave water rings on the table.

I have not used Chad's so I can't say anything. But if you have 2+months and if chemistry is the only subject you need to dig on, I suggest you buying a used textbook for like 20-30 bucks. My school used Chemistry and Chemical Reactivity 7th ed by John Kotz, which helped me understand some concepts fully and in detail. Textbooks are great for explaining concept in detail with examples and practice questions. However, it takes quite a long time - so be careful and don't allocate too much time reading the whole textbook. If you do use it, just go through the sections you are confused in.

KBB is Kaplan Blue Book. It seems like you have the Kaplan material, so the lesson book you got is basically the same thing as the KBB.

Thanks for the responses. I think I'm going to do CHAD. Once I have actually learned the material, besides Chad's quizzes, whats the best thing/most reflective of real DAT to use for practice chem questions?

A lot of people used DAT Destroyer and found success with it. If you don't want to invest in Destroyer because of the $ issue, I still think Chad's Videos would be sufficient enough.
