I didn't get any interview nor rejection now.
My GPA is 3.78, Science is 3.8.
DAT is 22.
I applied 9 schools and all of the status in AADSAS is "Received/Under Review".
What should I do?😕
My major is statistics (I just got my M.S degree) and I'm a ESL.
Should I take more classes and retake my DAT?
Thank you very much

What are all of your stats - where did you do undergrad/pre-reqs, how did you do, where did you go for grad, how did you do, do you have any EC's, any shadowing, how was your essay, etc?

When did u apply? Where did u apply to?

All of my applications designated on 07/25/2012.
I applied CASE, TEMPLE, Tufts, MYD, UMDNJ (in state student), Stony Brook, BU.

I did half of my undergrad pre-reqs at Rutgers and half of them at a community college at the same time. Like except for 7 credits B+, rest of the credits are A. I did my undergrad in China. The GPA is so-so like 3.5. My graduate school is rutgers and I got 3.75 GPA for my grad courses. What's EC? Yes I'm still shadowing and doing volunteer right now. Like 2 hrs/ week. What essay are you talking about? Thank you.

Off of the top of my head, this explains Tufts and BU.

I have no choice. For graduate student, I could only take 16 credits / semester at rutgers with graduate students' tuition fee (which is double to undergrad)..
I cried to beg my director to let me choose more but failed... So I had to take credits from 2 schools at the same time... If I retake them at Rutgers, will it help?
What else should I do?
Thank you very much👍

For shadow and Volunteer. I think I finished like 80 hrs within half year. I had work experience. Acctually, I have a full time job right now and I'm still doing 2hrs shadow per week.
My essay won't be as good as the native speaker. But my friend said he will give me 85 out of 100 for that. So I assumed it's not that bad.
Thanks!

Oh. Sorry, I didn't mean to judge or I hope I didn't come off as such. Tufts and BU, off the top of my head, just don't accept community college credits. I'm sure people have more educated suggestions, but I think if you aren't able to get in this year, taking those classes again at Rutgers will improve your application. I would also probably apply to more schools.

R u international student? or NJ resident?

Don't be. I just don't like my director... OK. I'll retake the courses this year. Any other tips for me? Thanks a lot!!!😍

If Rutgers has a career center that graduate students can also use, I would look to schedule a meeting with them to look over your personal statement. I am a graduate student too, and while my friends thought my personal statement was good, the career center at my school tore it apart and made me change a lot of things. Showed my friends the personal statement after I re-wrote it and they were blown away. I think friends are great, but they also know your story and are rooting for you so their constructive criticism might not be the most helpful. If you can convince that stranger at the career center with your personal statement, then you know it's good.

Keep up the shadowing. Shadowing over a longer period of time will show more of an interest in dentistry.

Good luck!!!!

Actually, I have the career center edited my essay. But my friend said they destroyed my advantages... That's why he just gave me 85 points.
I'll keep up the shadowing!! And will retake some courses next semester after my work.
Thank you!

Might be apply more schools if u need to re-apply... But, good luck in this cycle... Pray for the spring round!!!

Thanks.

Hey, I just see this from a school website "Prior to matriculation, applicants must have completed a minimum of 90 semester-hours of coursework from a regionally accredited college or university. " Did you check the specific requirements from your schools? Can your graduate courses count into this 90 semester-hours? Good Luck!!!

Yes. They can and the community college included in it too.
Thanks a lot. Trying to find a research assistant in a lab now.
