I just retook the DAT and the breakdown of scores are TS: 21(bio:21/chem:21/ochem/22) AA:20 (rc:17/qr:19) PAT:22

I think these scores are ok except reading comprehension,
which is difficult for me to improve since english is not my
native language.

My ucsd gpa is 3.6 (sci 3.7) with a physiology major...
my research experience is relatively little and i nearly
had no club participation...

However i have 1200+ hrs working as dental assistant for
an orthodontist and an implant doctor and 100 hrs of volunteer.

My biggest concern is the reference letter.
I decided to go for dentistry late so i had to go to a professor
who doesn't know me well to write me one, but
i heard this professor actually writes negative letters sometimes!!
This matter of fact worries me a lot..

Should I just apply anyway in june or take a class at community
college and apply in august? 🙁

Please please give me some advice

Most schools want 2 LORs from science instructors. Most likely, all your science instructors @ UCSD are PhD's and know full well the deal with LOR's and how necessary they are. Pick two instructors, preferably from your pre-req classes that you got a really good grade from, and ask for a LOR.

If a professor doesn't know you well and you got a high grade in his/her class, I can't see them writing a bad one(especially if the class size is large). Regardless, pick another professor. You should have many to choose from.

I had to go back 7 years and look up my old teachers to get LORs so if I can do it, you should have no problem.
