Really need to get some insight asap as to whether or not I should send my letter of intent to Dean of admissions?

How to Write a Medical School Letter of Intent in 2020

I saw in the above link that a letter of intent/commitment should be sent directly to the dean of admissions. There is one school that I want to commit to and feel strongly about. I was able to find the email for both the dean and director of admissions. So I wanted to see if I should email dean or directors (or email both?) instead of the general admissions email? Any tip for what to include? I wanted to do a combined letter of intent and update since I recently got into a clinical research lab and research was something that I lacked on my application (2 page long).

This is for a state school I interviewed at but will hear back from in 2 months. Any tip is really really appreciated (my states are 516, 3.9)

I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know that you should check if the school has a specific policy for these. Some will say to upload it to the portal. Some will say email to admissions. Some will say don't do it at all.

This^^^^^^^^, plus keep in mind the repeated advice from multiple adcoms who post here regarding the value and weight given to non-binding promises from desperate candidates, PARTICULARLY mid-cycle, pre-decision (hint: none! 😎). Your "intent" will change as your options change as the cycle progresses, and adcoms know this because they see it EVERY year. To the extent they are effective at all, it is at the end if you are in a competitive position on the WL.

To add to these, at least one adcom who posts in a school-specific thread (UCF) mentioned that they may consider letters of intent (not interest) only at the end of the cycle (May 21, he said, I think). Not sure if you are post-II waiting on a decision, post-II WL, or pre-II. I guess these are definitely not useful Pre-II, and probably useful only if you are post-II WL, and that too only at end of the cycle.
