Really not confident with my practice scores, dat this saturday

I keep getting 16 AA on my DAT and 17 ochem, 14 gchem, 16 bio, 18 rc, 15 QR, 20 pat

I have been studying 2 months...I guess its not effective. But I just need 18 AA though, do you think I have a chance?

14 gchem is very low... most people get that as their diagnostic score with zero studying.

I think your problem is that your entire goal so far was to shoot for such a low score, so your 2 months of "studying" wasnt really studying at all. If you're just shooting for the minimum, don't be disappointed if you come out way behind. I don't think an 18AA is possible if you can't break 16 on each section.

Yes you have a chance at an 18AA, but if you were studying to get a 30 instead of an 18, you would probably be wondering if you would get a 22 instead of an 18 right now.

take it easy...while I would agree with you if we knew this person was a slacker...in this case, we know nothing.

To the OP: I wasn't confident either when I took mine but I did fine. It is normal. Also, taking tests near test day is dangerous because it freaks us out. Well, study hard for the next few days. Pick your weak subject and just hammer down on it as much as possible till sat.

I agree with this post.
Even thought you may end up doing a bit better in real test, but it could go either way and also you may just be able to get 1 to max 2 points higher in any score and that is a maybe.

I do not know how you have been preparing for the test, so I do not know the depth of material you know, but real DAT has low calculation and more concept and you need to know the material rather than just have some ideas.

And I am curious as why you are shooting for 18. Are you in any special program that requires this min. If not then you really need to have higher score to be competative, at least 19.

Yes, I am. I'm in an Early Acceptance program. IT's just that I have never been good at taking standardized tests. I have been studying though with 3 hours a day first month and 4-5 hours second month and 5-6 hours a day two weeks prior (right now) and so yeah. Thank you for you opinions though.

honestly i don't think you're putting in enough time. granted if you're also taking a full load of classes on top of that, it's understandable. and, this isn't a get-out-of-jail-free card, but here are 2 of my threads before and after i took the dat:

good luck!

Thanks for you point of view. I am taking 15 hours of class and 4 hour lab. But of course, on the weekends I put more time into studying, but most of the five days/week I put as much as 5-6 hours along with my classes.
