I'm a pre-med, neurobio major. Freshman year my gpa was fine, but sophomore year I had a bout of depression and my gpa tanked (4.0->3.5 in two semesters with poor grades in essential science classes). I have really little extracurriculars (~20hrs/wk of research in a lab for 1 year now but the hours spent probably won't matter, and I am a tutor).
Have I essentially ruined my chances of getting into a top med school these two semesters?

Oh look... another SERIOUS dilemma... about getting into a TOP med school.

LoL

You will be fine. Provided that you sorted out your depression issues and you continue to do well in school. :luck:

Wow....that was serious enough to require immediate attention at 3:22 in the morning! Yeah, chances are pretty much over for TOP school since there's no way you'll ever have that 4.1 GPA. Keep your head up though, there's always the Caribbean!
😉

First things first, address the underlying issue. Seriously. Seek professional help. Then deal with grades.
