Hi guys,

I've tried just about every technique that exists - rapid eye, angle ranking, laptop, sitting far from the screen, etc, yet my scores come out only slightly better than if I were pure guessing. I don't know why I suck so much at this section 🙁

The only thing that sort of works is if I use the mouse cursor to imagine/extend the 180 degree line which helps me see how far each angle is from 180. Therefore, does anyone know for the actual test if you can move your mouse cursor over the angles to assist in answering the questions?

Any advice would be appreciated! My other PAT sections are fine, it's just this section that's bringing my overall score down :/

Yes, you can use your mouse cursor during the PAT, and if that helps for you, you should do it.

I would like to also recommend the 'tether-ball' method, as I was in your same situation with the methods you have given. The method is where you imagine the angles you are given as poles and tether-balls with the rope attached. The farther your imaginary ball is from the pole, the bigger the angle, and vice-versa.

Hmm this is interesting and I've never thought about it! How do you adjust this method when the angles have different length sides?

How do you use these strategies (like the tetherball one) if all the angles are rotated? I guess I can see it working if they were all the same orientation but I get confused when they're all over the place..

Sorry, just went back to this thread. For me, I started with a method I believe would work, and if one didn't seem to work, I mentally switched to another method right away (laptop, water-pour method, right-angle method, ski-slope method). If it took too much time, I IMMEDIATELY skipped it. I actually skipped like 4-5 angle ranking and came back later, and I'm confident that was what boosted my score.
