Hey all, I applied last cycle and got 1 II at Temple which turned into a WL. I think my lack of clinical exposure and service was a red flag last round, so I am reapplying with more this time and would appreciate any advice on how to improve beyond that, as well as which schools would be best to apply to!

Updated application:
Stats:
518 MCAT
3.81 cGPA, 3.73 sGPA (STRONG upward trajectory lol)
T15 undergrad
Utah ORM, bilingual

ECs:
1500+ research hours in a neuroscience drug discovery lab which resulted in an honors thesis, several awards and poster presentations. 25-30 hours of remote research in undergrad doing neuropsychology data analysis/scientific writing on datasets I collected with my PI from high school which resulted in 2 2nd author publications.
1800+ paid clinical hours as a neuroradiology clinical research coordinator (patient facing) in the last year, as well as 20 hours as a medical assistant (just got hired) with 1800 anticipated hours.
300+ clinical volunteering hours as a resource assistant and patient tech at a free clinic for low income/uninsured people in my community (220) in the last year, and as an inpatient volunteer/guest ambassador in a hospital during college (90)
150 nonclinical service hours crocheting hats for homeless folks on my own time
60 shadowing hours in 5 specialties (neurology, neurosurgery, rad onc, internal med, and ob/gyn anesthesiology) in college
350+ hours of leadership in an undergraduate research program (200) and as the president of a club sports team (150) in college

LORS from the medical director of the free clinic, my PI from undergrad, my PI from the last year, my organic chemistry professor, and the director of the undergraduate research program I was in.

Schools I applied to last cycle:

Albert Einstein College of Medicine
Case Western
Emory
Dartmouth
George Washington
Georgetown
Indiana University
Medical College of Wisconsin
Penn State
University of Vermont
U of Utah
University of Michigan Ann Arbor
University of Massachusetts T.H. Chan School of Medicine
University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine
University of Wisconsin
Vanderbilt
Virginia Commonwealth University
Wake Forest
WashU St. Louis
UCSD
UCSF
University of Colorado
Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine
Ohio State University College of Medicine
Tufts
Brown
Temple
U Illinois Chicago
Thomas Jefferson University
Virginia Tech

I am interested in neurology and neurosurgery as well as possibly ob/gyn or anesthesiology, but definitely remain open-minded for what I'll get to experience in med school! I'm really interested in continuing to do research in med school, especially in drug discovery or clinical trials!
Thanks in advance for any insights/advice!!

Your shadowing and clinical hours are fine but you need 150+ hours of non clinical volunteering such as food bank, homeless shelter, etc. before you reapply since some schools screen at 150 hours.

You could argue the role of resource assistant is in a gray zone between clinical and non-clinical. Either way, @Faha is correct that buffing up your app with homeless shelter/soup kitchen experience will help you a great deal.

Some of the schools on your list are public and do not have a reputation of being friendly to OOSers, like Indiana, UMass, OSU, and U of Wisconsin. Strike those and focus on adding more private schools.
