Hi!

Also looking to reapp this coming cycle and was checking out this forum when I came across your post with similar stats as me

If possible, I would maybe try looking into healthcare-based employment - i.e. scribe/MA work. Pro tip: you don't need a certification/schooling to legally work as an MA in CA :^) you could also try working in a primary care office and that might show your dedication to that specialty and give you the opportunity to write about it outside of the PS

But then again - take any advice I give with a grain a salt since i'm a fellow future reapp lol

Good luck!! 2nd time's the charm for sure

Interesting, I’ll have to look into that. As far as I’ve seen, all MA jobs require licenses or certifications, but that might be cause employers don’t want entry level people here. Good luck to you as well!

No interview invites
I suggest these schools when you reapply:
TCU-UNT
NOVA MD
Virginia Commonwealth
Eastern Virginia
George Washington
Penn State
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
Seton Hall
NYMC
Albany
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Medical College Wisconsin
California University
Kaiser
UC Davis
UC Irvine
Also apply broadly to DO schools and I suggest these:
WESTERN
TUCOM-CA
TUNCOM
AZCOM
DMU-COM
ATSU-KCOM
MU-COM
PCOM
LECOM (all schools)
CUSOM
NYITCOM
Touro-NY

Many thanks @Faha I see that I should swap out those reaches for more schools in the EVMS and VCU tier as well as DO. Do I need to add significantly to my EC’s or do you think it was just bad luck+not enough target schools?

@Goro you and Faha are my heroes. I’d love to get your thoughts too, especially with the sGPA issue

@Goro any idea for the lack of interviews?
You have a severe U, or more accurately, a reverse J-shaped GPA trend. Not enough data points ot show reinvention. Your high MCAT score doesn't remediate a weak GPA, and, in fact, accentuates the discrepancies. Of your school list, most of those were donations, sadly.

I recommend applying straight DO next cycle, or doing a DIY post-bac or SMP if you're gunning for MD. Read this:

Much appreciated, thanks Goro. I don’t want a 3rd cycle so straight DO hopefully works out better
