Depends on why you think you got rejected. If your stats were good and you think it had something to do with your application, I would rewrite the whole thing.

If you didn't get in your first time you should probably rewrite your essay unless you have solid GPA (3.6+ science GPA), DAT, and extracurriculars

Rewrite it, i rewrote mine and the rest of of my app was essentially the same except for more EC hours and I got in this time around.
