For those who unfortunately have to fill out aadsas again, are you sticking with your guns and filling in the blanks as the time before? Obviously...coursework, degrees and other things may be added, but I am more concerned with Personal statement and some of the other questions. Does anyone know if the dental schools frown upon reapplicants putting the same information down the 2nd time around if nothing has really change. Thanks

I put the same exact thing and schools didn't seem to mind.

If nothing changed, then nothing changed. Just answer the questions as they apply to you currently.

I'm changing mine quite a bit. I wrote a brand new personal statement. I am also being way more descriptive about my shadowing, volunteering, extracurricular, etc. experiences instead of just listing a couple of general things. My application was pretty weak last year though, so I really do need to improve it...

why would you have to fill it again? they have a big sign on the top left side of the screen that you go to and sign in. then it gives you the exact appl;ication you did before

For real? They didn't do that last year. That is nice.

I have not gotten to far into application yet, but I did sign in with old username and password. I hope that most everything is filled out but I am not expecting it to be.

If you filled out an application last year and E-submitted, then they will have almost everything saved EXCEPT: new coursework, PS, Letters of Rec, and DAT score.

all the extracurricular activites, jobs, experience will be saved. If you filled it out last year and did not E-submit then you will have to fill it out all over again..

haha...just checked and its all there. Thank the good lord I don't have to fill out all that coursework again!!!

Hey, I was wondering if you guys could help answer my question...As a re-applicant when you did the whole data transfer thing, Is it asking you now to submit fees to ADEA to release your DAT scores from last year?
In previous posts some applicant's scores automatically released, but this was before this new data transfer thing. Thank you in advance!

I also have a question about DAT scores...I applied in the 09-10 cycle and sat the 10-11 one out. When I applied before, I had to pay $25 for each additional school to send DAT scores than the original 5 selected. Now, I see this blurb in the AADDSAS instructions,

"AADSAS will obtain your official DAT scores directly from the American Dental Association’s Testing Services Center and will import them directly into your application."

Do I still need to pay $25/additional school to the ADA for them send scores? I paid for my test in Oct. of 2009 and took it the end of July 2010. I'm not sure where I fall in this new way of doing things since I see the above quote in AADSAS, but the ADA sight still has the $25/school option to send scores. 😱

If nothing has changed chances are the neither will the outcome.

You do not need to pay $25/ school. its included in you application fees. That started last year.

I re-wrote my personal statement and added a few extra things, but I love how they let us keep our transcripts! I applied une 1st this time instead in late august! Hopefully I'll be more than waitlisted this time around!
