Hey I'm a reapplicant and I was wondering if i should retake the DAT? I have kinda been studying but not hardcore cuz im still in two minds about retaking the exam (mostly out of fear of doing worse) lemme know what you guys think!

Academic Average 19
Perceptual Ability 18
Quantitative Reasoning 17
Reading Comprehension 18
Biology 19
General Chemistry 22
Organic Chemistry 20
.Total Sciences 20.

I'm no expert. But what's your GPA? Look at the schools you want to go to and put your stats against their avg. acceptances. The scores aren't bad..as long as you have a decent/above avg GPA.

yea i dont have a stellar GPA sGPA is about a 3.1....

last cycle i got an interview at AT Still (I got WLed), and a post Dec-1st interview at UCSF...

IMO, Either way you are going to apply this year right? So, why waste your third try this year. If you don't get in...do a masters over the next year and apply again. How much did your score improve by?

ive only taken the DAT once...those are my scores from the 1st time i took it...if i retook it now it would be my 2nd time....what do you guys think?

I think your scores are good enough. If you didn't get accepted, I am assuming that it was because of your GPA.

Apply early with what you've got already. If...you find time to study and can take in June or July and update your scores I think that would be ok too.

Personally, I think the reason why you didn't get in is that you have a relatively low PAT and RC.
Your other scores seem ok though.
Would I retake if I was you?
Well, if I've studied for it, YES!
If I haven't studied for it and I don't feel more confident compared to last time, then NO! What's the point of retaking the exam, if you know you haven't prepared for it the way you should have. Besides, you might end up risking your other scores.
So, I think you should apply early using the same scores. If UCSF gave you an interview with these scores, you'll probably get more interviews this year, provided that you apply early.

Good Luck👍

Everything else aside, you have done a great job on RC. Impressive. Congrat. Those are nice scores.
