Hello my fellow SDN junkies!
We've seen many a notable SDN denizen get into dental school this cycle, and to those of you who have managed to do so, I congratulate you! For those of us still solely waiting for waitlist movement, replies from schools, or have been sent unfavorable replies from all schools we have applied to, we are faced with the grim reality that the new cycle begins in a little less than 3 weeks and at this point in the game, regardless of how favorable we feel our chances of getting in to a school via waitlist or any other method, there is a real and likely possibility that we may not get in this cycle.
I, myself, have begun to re-write my lackluster personal statement and other aspects of my application that require one to input text. I urge those of you in the same or a similar situation as myself to do so as well in order to pave the way for an early application submission date (others may disagree, but I personally feel that early submission is a real factor for admission for some schools-depending on an applicants stats and non-numerical application factors) as well as utilize the advice given to others on the numerous threads regarding this topic.
Whether you're someone with many matriculating peers at the end of this cycle and too embarrassed to respond to the constant "Where are you going to school this cycle?", a lurker who obsessively checks the school specific forums and his or her phone-hoping for waitlist movement, or a veteran re-applicant, know that you are not alone in the struggle and as long as we continue to improve our applications, I'm sure we'll all make it in at some point! For those of us still waiting and hoping for waitlist movement or a reply from a school/several schools, I wish us the best of luck! For those who will be getting ready to reapply, I wish us all the best of luck too! Feel free to contribute to this thread with any helpful advice, uplifting/encouraging stories, and/or your own views on the subject~
Tl;Dr: Time to get ready for round 2(+)
I'd also like to take the time to thank all the helpful users who have constantly given constructive advice and contributed resources (which took no small amount of time to compile) this cycle-ya'll know who you are
