Date of submission: June
Overall GPA: 3.48
Science GPA: 3.47
Bio-Chem-Physics GPA: 3.58
DAT score (include AA and all sections): AA 22 TS 22 BIO 21 GC 22 OC 24 PA 22 RC 22 QR 22
State of Residence: Maine
Major: Biology
Minor: Chem
Minority? No
Reapplicant? Yes
Nontrad? No
Shadowing Experience: 80 hrs General Prac, 10 hrs Ortho
Volunteering Experience: 50 hrs through college soccer team: coaching soccer, youth camps, helping cook dinners as team for food pantry, ext... as well as 15 hrs in COVID vaccine clinic
Employment: 900 hrs as Dental Assistant, currently working in Spinning Mill disassembling and repairing large manufacturing equipment
Research: No Research
Other Extracurriculars: 4 Years of College Soccer
Relevant Honors or Awards: Many athletic awards (All-conference, All-tournament, ext...) Few academic ( Deans list most semesters)
LOR type and strength: Can get 2 LOR from dentists and another from my physics professor
Misc Info/Things not stated elsewhere/Red Flags: Currently hold EMT certification, potential red flag could be that I switched late to dentistry from Pre-PA. My major was actually Med Bio-Pre PA but it was more of a formality as all the classes are identical to my pre-dent peers.
School List:
-UNE
-Uconn
-Tufts
-BU
-Buffalo
-Stony Brook
-Dalhousie
A few question I have are... 1) Do I need more shadow hrs or will my assisting hrs take care of that. 2) Will I need more volunteer hrs? Should I stay away from doing more soccer volunteering and find something more relevant? 3) Any advice with my school list? UNE is my top as I want to stay close to home, the rest of my list was primary based around location.
