This question has been asked before but I was hoping to find some recent input from those who were reapplicants last year and were admitted to dental schools this year.

Did you keep the same essay you did and just added new info to some of the paragraphs or did you just change the whole thing from top to bottom?

The only thing that would be new to my essay is that I published research recently but that's pretty much it since I have many volunteer/shadowing/work experience so far and needed to concentrate solely on the DAT.

Thanks in advance, any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

I haven't been accepted but I'll say that from what I've heard (advice from advisors, admissions committees, peers, dentists, professors) that it's in a person's best interest if you start with something new. Think of it like this -- if you didn't get in the first time, update and make positive changes to as much as you possibly can on your app.

Thank you all for answering, I really appreciate it 🙂 best of luck to you all as well!

I totally rewrote mine and I think it turned out 10x better.

Definitely rewriting it too to stay on the safe side 🙂 thanks!!
